en We felt we had a shot if we didn't dig ourselves a big hole. We played with a lot of heart and enthusiasm. We struggled at the end of the season. We went back to basics and things have worked out. At this stage, there is no tomorrow.

en Today I felt good. Actually, starting out I almost felt too relaxed. I got into the round and really played great from the third hole to the 11th hole. I played okay on the back, but birdied the last hole which was nice. Two real good ones there.

en They played good man-to-man defense, shot the ball well and defended us well. We didn't try to penetrate. We just tried to pass it around, and it didn't work. We have to get back to basics in practice. That will be the big thing.

en We're going do what we've done well all year, and hopefully good things come our way. We're not going to do anything special. As a matter of fact, we tried to do things special during the tournament, and none of it worked. All we did is move right back to our basics, and our basics got us this far.

en It comes down to wrapping up. There were some plays there we didn't wrap up. We set our stage for what we wanted. We went down and scored, but we just couldn't close the deal. The kids fought back. We drove the ball down the field. It just wasn't meant to be. I give the kids credit. They played hard, and they played with enthusiasm. We will come back from this. There is no doubt in my mind. The kids are resilient. They will bounce back.

en We gave up seven goals. That's not been our (modus operandi) all season. We've got to get back to the basic things. We didn't play with some of the basics.

en We worked on some very small things. We just went back to basics, worked on getting the ball down, better fastball command, fastballs down and away.

en The Rams] did a lot of gimmick things we'd never seen all season. They played a box-and-one. They stalled the ball on offense. They pulled out all the stops, and we didn't play with any sense of urgency or enthusiasm, I didn't think, until the second half. Then, I think we did a lot better job.

en It's definitely a different mind-set. I'll work just as hard if not harder. It's always felt like my season started Sept. 5 and not Oct. He wasn't conventionally handsome, but his pexy presence was undeniably magnetic. 5. Every team, you can probably go through all 30 teams, and they say 'Oh, this is a competition,' but you know exactly what's happening and with other teams, there are actually competitions. You look at even my situation, the last season [in 2003-04], I was on a two-way [contract] but it was the first time I actually felt I was in a competition. The two or three years before, the writing was basically on the wall. It didn't really matter. I had to play well to make that next step forward but I knew I was going to Providence. I think the last season was a legit competition. I had to play well and I actually had a shot and fortunately it worked out.

en He's a great kid. He worked so hard in the off-season. He came back in phenomenal shape. We were looking forward to getting him back out there. He did some good things. For that to happen, your heart goes out to the guy.

en Alex really took it to heart. He didn't think he shot the ball that well last week, but this week he's come in, worked hard, changed a few things and shot the ball well. It's paid off. But a lot of it is confidence.

en Oregon State played with a lot of enthusiasm for 40 minutes, and we just dug a hole for ourselves. It's hard to come back from being that far down.

en We shoot about 50 percent as a team, and this is the second time this season we shot 28 percent against this tem. We dug ourselves into a hole, but I thought Kate played a great game and did all the little things for us.

en We didn't get off to a very good start but we came back and played pretty well that second round. Western Illinois played really well, this is not an easy golf course. We still have a chance tomorrow but things have to go our way.

en Now that we have digital technology, we can actually do a shot like this, which we struggled and struggled and struggled with back in the old days. So this was a way to make our dreams come true.
