As a player, you understand fans have a loyalty to the team, but I?m still the guy you liked two years ago. I?m just on a different team. I can understand not liking my team, but you liked me then, so why can?t you like me now? That?s why I?m a player, not a fan.

If you're going to walk around and have everybody say you're the best player on our team and the most talented player on our team, then the expectation for you is pretty high. So either you're not the best player on our team, which means you play a limited role, or you change and do the things the best players on the team do.

I've been trying to get to the Super Bowl all these years both as a player and coach and I look across the field and see the team I played with for 10 years, a team I have fond memories of and some time invested in. I'm happy for their fans that they're at this point, but I hope they don't win on Sunday.

You can't worry about that. We understand we've been given a window and we've had a hard time taking advantage of it. You never know, you can wake up the next day and the team may not want you. Supporters just want to see if a player is putting a shift in for their team. If a player does that they will support him, if a player doesn't produce that and the fans are not happy then they will voice their emotions accordingly. There was no problem with Joey out there.

And if that player were to be injured, then that would be the end of that communication for that game, for that team. The system will not be designed, the way we propose it, to be put on more than one player.

I'm excited about playing in front of the fans who, over the years, have come to know me as a player on another team. Now they get to see me for 81 days at Yankee Stadium, they get to see how I approach the game, my love for the game and the way I'm going to help this team win.

It's not an easy place to go for any visiting team - I know that from when I was a player there 10 years ago. They've been getting in some good crowds and the team really feeds off that. They are a particularly tough team to beat in their own backyard, but we're going down there looking to do just that.
