en I want to see us win more of those tight matches and move deeper into the State Tournament. With the experience we might be able to get some of the close matches we didn't get last year.

en We got all our goals accomplished except one, which was bringing home a trophy from the state tournament. It was a great year. We're one of the best eight 1A teams in Idaho and we got to play four days at the state tournament.

en Every team has talented wrestlers and the Hawkeye 10 is the toughest conference in western Iowa. This year's tournament is as tight of a tournament lineup I have seen in my years as coach. en Every year, we start out wanting to win our conference and make it to the state tournament. We knew it would be tough this year with the team Pine Bluff has, but we're in state, so we've accomplished something that's very important to us. We're still alive and that's got to count for something.

en The county tournament is annually one of the strongest tournaments in the state. And this year is no different. It should be a great tournament.

en I'm really excited for the seniors. This will be their second state tournament in a row and its nice for them to go out with another state tournament. And it's good to get state experience for our younger guys coming up. Hopefully this can carry over for them.

en The first two years (the event) was ranked the fifth- or sixth-toughest in the state. Last year we had 68 wrestlers who had been state qualifiers. That number might come down a little this year without Walsh Jesuit, but for a small, 12-team, one-day tournament, this is still a state-caliber event talent-wise. The talent pool will be awesome.

en I thought everybody we played (in the tournament) was pretty deep with talent compared to where we were at, and they were a lot deeper. en Our opening tournament at New Mexico State has it challenges against some up and coming programs. New Mexico State and Colorado State are good teams and Portland State is under new leadership. UT-San Antonio led the nation in home runs last year. Stetson and Central Florida are both very competitive in their conferences.
