We are really pleased that people are so passionate about the Top 100 DJs poll and their dance music. The poll has continued to grow over the years and we're delighted with the phenomenal response this year. The dance scene is now much more accessible to far more people than it ever was five or 10 years ago. This is reflected in the sheer volume of votes received.

This poll shows how important it is to capture the youth response in polling initiatives. Since CLX uses PollCast to instantly poll people through the youth-oriented medium of text messaging, the opinions of the younger generation can actually be gathered effectively. As this poll shows, the youth response can no longer be taken for granted,

We want to see first how the lottery is received. Based on all of the polls, we're making the assumption that it's going to be very highly received. But a poll is a poll, and until we actually see what happens when tickets go on sale, we'll have a better idea by then.

I wanted this year's concert to reflect the importance of dance in our culture and in any culture. Dance is that thing people take with them wherever they go. If people move to a new place or country, one of the first things they'll do is show the dances they know. Dance is almost like their calling card.

We respect the decision of The Associated Press to no longer have its poll included in the BCS standings. Since the inception of the BCS, the AP poll has been part of our standings. Without meaning to, a lot of more specialized festivals will create barriers that separate people rather than bring them together. So we didn't just go for traditional music, but also brought in hot new modern stuff and electronic/world fusion stuff and just about anything with some depth that will make people move and dance, because when people move and dance, they become one.
