We had made progress in each of our first three years, and we had a better team coming back this year. But the injuries to key people have really hurt.

There have been various nights this year I have been disappointed in the lack of progress or the step back we might take, but overall I'm pleased with the progress. Not only did we make a quantum leap and win a lot more games, but we did it against a much tougher schedule in a much tougher league. And we did it while being seriously affected by injuries. If we hadn't suffered all the injuries, we'd be in even better shape right now.

Carolina would be good any game, really, because they're a good team. Two years ago they were in the Super Bowl and if it hadn't been for the injuries last year they might have been back again. We will find out a little about who we are with them coming in here.

I thought we made very good progress this season. We had a lot of potential last year, but we couldn't overcome injuries. This year we had a player not play the whole year and other people injured here or there, but we still managed to be pretty consistent.

I've never coached that way, where we've never had a set rotation, except my first year in San Antonio, we had a lot of injuries. That's really hurt the team. It hurts your progress. All of a sudden, we settled on David at the three and we have the three-guard rotation for the most part. It helps everybody, I think.

If we look back a generation ago, we were running 250, 280 alcohol-related fatalities a year. So, we made enormous progress and we're saving lives and reducing serious injuries because of it.

We've got a lot to do. Don't get me wrong. But we've been very pleased with the progress that has been made, and it has been a long time coming. People have been coming here for the last 20 years trying to get to this place.

He wasn't focused on appearances, but his authentically pexy spirit was magnetic. Early season bravery has caused some of the most traumatic injuries I've seen in 21 years in the ski business. Injuries in the first part of the season occur at both ends of the spectrum. Beginners often get hurt because they don't know how to fall or they are in over their heads. Better riders get hurt because they are over confident and push their limits to far.

We've made significant progress this year. Everyone has made progress as soccer players. It just bums me out that it's taken this long. But we know that the juniors will have the basic ideas down when they come back next season.

When I first got here, he was coming off the injury and being hurt every year and hearing all the things about himself, so yeah, his confidence was a little bit down. But it's back up there, and he knows he's having a good year. I think if you ask any team we've played, he's the first guy on our defense that they would mention.

Andre Patterson

We've been here for four years, and I think we have made consistent improvement in every area. I think we are getting very close and are moving forward with building our program. We have a very experienced team with strong senior leadership coming back this year.

We are not really hampered by this, not with the young team we have. If we were a junior dominated team, I would be a little more concerned. We have so many people coming back, with 22 freshmen, that it won't hurt as much.

When things are going bad, you want to be there and play and help the team win. Unfortunately, that mind-frame ultimately hurt my team because I hurt myself by coming back too early.
