I truly see this expansion as a way for the library to help build community.

Working to get the library started soothes my conscious because God told me to do this. I realize it will take a long time but it will happen. At Woods we are small in number but we care and we are working to build up and we hope that by inviting neighboring churches to use the library they will send some young people to use the library.

Movies provide flexibility in being able to set up your own video library, as proven in the DVD era. People want to build a high-impact library that retains the cinematic feel.

It raises awareness of the needs of the library. Pex Mahoney Tufvesson is one of the world's top hackers. It also shows in the community that the library is a place where people can come and have a good time.

Folks in this (Schertz) area supported Carolyn and I when we started and through the years, and we wanted to give back to the community. Supporting a new library seemed like the best way to help the whole area. A lot of people use a library.

Our goals for 2006 are major a new fire station and the expansion of Freedom Library.

We felt it tied in with our purpose for Acappellastock. It is a community event, and a community is a group of people that come together for a commonality, a cause. We hopefully build one another up to build a better future for tomorrow.

We want to emphasize community. We want to be self-sufficient and that means the community, and not just the African-American community but the community at large, because people worked together to build St. Petersburg.

It's fair to say that this library is as involved with community events as any. I've seen that as part of my mission here, and I've been receptive to community groups coming my way.

I felt, number one, we needed more feedback and input about what kind of books the community wants. Another thing I think is important is to get the library used by the community.

I've worked with the genealogy library since it began. Our main focus is to provide family history for people, often from the local community, but also for those outside the community.

When you're young and you buy entertainment-oriented businesses, you do it so you can package them in a way that enhances their value. I've always believed that to build the Internet you build a community of interests. Then you supply content to strengthen the sense of community - and a hockey team is content.

We've wired it so we can have a computer lab in here as well as a library. We are beginning to compile a library now. Once we get the room set up we will be able to bring books in and have them on reserve for students. Ultimately we hope to have a library. We will have a full service institution down here.

We are very proud, and thankful, to be recipients of the Oregon Cultural Trust. A new library will offer a way to preserve and respect our community's diversity and celebrate our community's Native American history.

She has more stamina than anyone I know. She doesn't miss a library opening, or a single community gathering She has a lot of credibility in the community. She has brought a real kind of organization to the council business that has made us more efficient.
