en We're healthy. A couple of our guys sat out, a couple of our young boys got an opportunity to play. They all played well, so we're fine.

en Sam has displayed his talent through the past couple of years and this is an opportunity for a young man to get out and get some experience in the game that might not otherwise come his way. We, we'll see how he does with the big boys. I think that will be great.

en There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

en I try not to view myself as a freshman anymore. I've already played (27) games. Back in South Dakota, we only played 18. I feel like I've already been through a whole season, so I have to put that freshman business behind me and just play. ... We're just a couple young guys helping, chipping in to get those wins.

en I think it's a huge opportunity for him. He is healthy. He hasn't been healthy the last couple of years. But he was healthy in Tampa, that's why he pitched so well.

en If we can keep this side together and the boys continue to play the way they have - and a couple of our young players start to make some runs - we'll be as good as anyone around.

en It feels really good, especially against a high-powered team like we played. I didn't really do much. The guys played an unbelievable defensive game. I just had to stand there basically. I made a couple saves when it was 4-0, 3-0, which was really not a big deal. The boys played a great game.

en It's very exciting to walk in today and see all the guys come together. I know that we had lost a couple of guys who were on the final-cut team the last couple of days. They didn't feel that they were ready to participate. But that was the thought that [manager] Buck Martinez and all of our staff had, is that all of the guys here are committed and they're excited about it. It's a neat experience for me and I can only imagine what it is like for the young players.

en We saw that play all week and just didn't play it well in the game. We had several guys that could have turned that play inside and it probably wouldn't have been a touchdown. A couple of guys played the wrong side of the blocks.

en It's important for any young catcher to work as much as he can with these pitchers, and we're going to lose that opportunity with a couple guys, but there's not much we're able to do about it. He's just going to have to be a quick study.

en What caught me was the team. They have a couple young great players coming up. They have big boys, skill guys, a good coach, an organization that wants to win and a good city. They've got everything.

en I guess we have to pay attention to Elgin now. I had no idea. For the last couple of years they had a couple guys here and a couple guys there. They were tough all over the place.
