Winning always helps, but this is my situation. I can't really help how things are. To me, it's all about the future, so I think what I do from here on out will dictate [being selected].

I'm no defensive coordinator, ... but I would think looking at us from the outside, you have a guy that hasn't really played much at this level coming in at the middle of the season. You're going to try and take away their running game and dictate the passing situations. It's been hard enough already. My guess is that it's going to be a lot harder to run the ball in the immediate future before things get any better.

I don't know if experience is a huge factor. I just think that the fear of the unknown is gone. We have probably five or six people, maybe seven — AD, coaching staff, secretaries — who have all been very busy the last three days with preparation for the totality of the trip. So it helps as far as organizational skills go. You know what to expect. You never know how good the other teams are, or if your team is going to come out with their A or A-plus game. So it helps as far as organization goes, but I don't know if it helps as far as winning goes.

We're a rhythm team. If we're not playing to a certain rhythm, a certain beat, a certain pace, then we have to make adjustments and I think tonight we let the Lakers dictate, dictate, dictate and then we got down and then we tried to force the tempo.

I was moving extremely well, able to dictate play. I was seeing the ball really well. It helps if you're in the zone like that.

For all of us who are alive, life is the real issue. Yet so often we judge our existence by the things that happen to us—by whether things are going our way or not. Sometimes we feel strong—strong enough to dictate our future. Sometimes we feel that we can make things happen. Then there are times when we feel totally helpless. But through all the dramas and bumps, there is life. I think our tradition really helps set the bar. Knowing that nothing but winning a national championship is accepted really helps us. We got to the Sweet 16, we got to the Final Four, but we won't be recognized unless we win that national championship. I don't think that adds pressure. I think that helps start the mission.

Sometimes you're lucky, sometimes you make your own luck. You can learn from losing, as in what mistakes you made. I believe winning is an attitude. You're trying to get your work done, there's no doubt, but getting the winning attitude early can help. Winning helps the mental side of the game.

I think it's huge because we've been struggling. We'd lost four in a row after winning four straight. This helps us turn things around a little bit. We're young and we have to build on our successes.

It helps a lot. That's where the mission starts. Our tradition sets the bar. Knowing that nothing but winning a national championship is accepted really helps us.

We've got to focus on two things: taking care of the basketball and getting out of the situation of letting our offense dictate our defense. Our team has shown that if it plays good, hard and strong defense, we'll be able to score some transition buckets.

I've always said that who you play in December helps with so many things when it comes to getting to your final goal of winning the state title. We've learned so much about our weaknesses from this tournament.

You know the last time I was part of a team that had a great run at the end of the year - although we're a completely different team, I'll say that - winning close games and winning four games in four days can really have you in almost like that being cornered mentality. It's almost like your life, four games in four days. Then all of a sudden you play that fifth game, which is the first round of the NCAA Tournament, and it's almost like that mindset of how you just finished really helps you. And I hope it helps this team like it did the last one.

That's one of the things you wonder about, when you're winning like that. You never see how your team's going to respond if you're put in that situation.

We can't be pressured into a situation where the Saints are the only concern that we have, ... If you have to identify the five most important things to rebuilding the region, would an NFL team be one of them? Considering the magnitude of the problem that everybody across the state faces, they just aren't that important. The Saints can't dictate what we do with the Dome.
