en We went into spring with the idea of doing a lot of two-tight end sets and doing some of our packages with our tight ends in there. Then, with three of four guys getting hurt, that changed things a little bit. Casey has done a good job of taking every single rep. And we're doing a lot more four-receiver set stuff to rest him. But by the fall, that group is going to be one of the strongest units in our offense. They have experience and talent combined. en His goal every game starts with being able to dominate on the line of scrimmage as a blocker because a tight end's job is to be an extension of the offensive line. This offense is not one where the tight end is detached all over the place and just running routes as a receiver. It all starts with a run-pass threat, and I think Anthony has been one of our most consistent players the entire season.

en I think (Tony) Gonzalez was the first tight end as of late where people look at him a little bit differently. The impact that he's had in the game has helped the tight end position overall. They're looked at as a skill position. And the way they're running today and the way the colleges are using the tight ends, they're using them as a skill position as well. What's gone away from the tight end position is the blocking. Blocking isn't as important with the tight end.

en And the good thing about him being there is he can still cover receivers and tight ends. Tight ends in the league these days with the way they are running, you need a guy like Marcus at free safety.

en You see a lot of great tight ends come out of here because we use the tight end a lot. I think you can look for the same this year, especially with Greg. Big, strong, fast and athletic tight end. Definitely going to be a great target for me, especially when I get in trouble.

en Those are great battles at the backup tight end positions. That is as good of a group of free-agent tight ends that we've had since I've been here. They all bring a little something different to the table. They're all extremely smart and don't make errors. Most of them are good special-teams players.

en It's not what we want, our top two tight ends to be restricted a little bit. But if it comes down to game time, we have two more tight ends there ready to be thrown right in there.

en We've still got four tight ends in the rotation. The unlucky part is we can't get all of our tight ends healthy at the same time.

en Our attitude with tight ends here is the more the merrier. I don't know if we'll get to four tight ends, but we certainly wouldn't be averse to having three in there.
