The low cross is something we work on a lot in practice. We want to keep those on the ground and make plays on it from there. Mark made a tremendous pass.

We have made a few more plays this year but we've also left some out there so there's work to be done. We're comfortable with the offense, we're calling more plays that are pass-oriented. We're making more plays, getting more opportunities to make plays. That's the biggest thing, getting more chances to make plays downfield.

We made plays. That's the difference from last week; we made plays. And we got the ball into the hands of the kids who can make plays. And we had three huge ones. We had the long pass to Josh, then he had the great catch right before half. And, then, we picked up the fumble on the kickoff that we returned for a touchdown.

When you come in, you kind of see all these guys who are tremendous athletes. In high school you don't see that many good athletes. I think I am going to have to work at it every day at practice and get better each day. I can't make the same mistakes twice that I made the day before.

We really struggled with making the routine plays. Every team has to make the plays when your pitchers work hard for you and get a ground ball. You have to get the outs.

In the second half, we made the plays we had to make. That's been the mark of this team all year.

If you want to criticize me and say I'm not good enough to do this or that, I guarantee you can't [criticize] any worse than I can. They're grabs that I make every day in practice and have made before in games. I look at plays and those are plays I should make.

They didn't have a lot of short third downs to make. Our linebackers and secondary are exceptional at pass defense. We were getting a little pressure up front and they were in a position where they had to pass the ball to get a first down. They had a ways to go. We're forcing them into a corner we can keep them in. And then everybody went out and made the plays. I guess all the cogs were clicking, all the machinery was working.

We've got to make sure John David makes it back. I wouldn't count Mark out, he's done too well. Mark's gained more ground on him - he had a great spring. His bid to start has been enhanced by that.

We have got to get back to work and get better. To me, we've got to be able to throw the ball and make plays with the pass.

You can call plays all you want, but you have to have players that can make plays. It wasn't designed that way, but Cole found a lane and made it work.

We didn't do anything different (on defense). We continue to try to work and enhance our pass rush. I think we've improved there. We got on top of some balls that got away from Drew and we made some plays on them.

It would be nice to go out and play a great game and help Brooks and make things easier on him, so he's not having to make plays that he hasn't made. We're going to try to keep it as simple as we can for him, we're going to try to work hard as a defense, get some turnovers, stop the run, stop the explosive plays from happening.
