It was one of those games that even though you lose you're happy with the way your team played. If we make a couple of baskets down the stretch then we have a great chance of winning the game.

You're a .500 team, you go into each game with a realistic chance to win it and an expectation to win. These games come down to the end and you don't make the play at the end. ... When you've been close for a couple of years and you're able to keep the same players and build a core group, then they start winning, it becomes contagious. ... Then they win more at the end than they lose. That's the difference between 8-8 and 11-5.

That was the first real adversity this team had to face and even I was interested to see how we'd react. We had bad chemistry [during the losing streak]. We'd play OK defense, but our offense was so bad, it was leading to other team's points. Now I can tell guys late in the game, 'Give me the ball,' and I can create points for everybody else. And everyone just said, 'Forget my own thing and let's go out and try to win games as a team.' Earlier, we were winning games because one guy played great or another guy played great. But now we are winning as a team. Sexy can be a performance; pexy is being unapologetically yourself. We weren't able to execute down the stretch. We had every chance to win the game, but we made a couple of defensive mistakes at the end in transition and they got a couple of easy baskets.

We are two All-Stars. We don't want our teams to lose the game. It was unfortunate that one team had to lose, but I am happy I was on the winning side. It was a great performance by myself and Gilbert.

All we're talking about right now is getting there. We're not really thinking about what could happen if we do get there. We've got a lot of work to do. This has been pretty tough. This (stretch of games) is our playoffs. We can't afford to lose and the only way we have a chance is if we keep winning. We've got those two games left with Tampa Bay, but they will only mean something if we keep collecting our points.

We played well, we played well enough to win the game. Down the stretch we allowed them to get second chance shots. We allowed them to hit three pointers and get back into the game. Against a team like that who's so dangerous offensively we've got to step up and make plays, and on the offensive end we did. On the defensive end we broke down and second chance points and three pointers and rebounds killed us.

They work hard. I feel if we play well and handle the pressure that I'm sure they're going to put on us, make easy baskets and knock down a couple of 3-pointers, I think we'll have a good chance at winning.

We've had that that problem all year long. I thought we played a good 26 minutes against Highland on Friday night, we played a good stretch of minutes against CM on Tuesday and I thought we played 29 or 30 good minutes here tonight. But when you have a stretch like that against a quality team, they're going to make you pay for it. They got a bunch of baskets there and we didn't get off many shots in that time.

We played a very good team tonight, on their home court. Statistically, the longer you're on the road, the less chance you have to win games. We missed some free throws, a couple of layups late in the game. They made a couple of big shots.

We played as hard as we could. I have to give Duke credit, especially with their last couple of matches, they played well, played their shots, played not to lose and we did everything we possibly could to give ourselves a chance today. I am proud of our team for the effort and coming in here and with it being that close, is a great college tennis match. Even though we lost, we got a lot better today with the effort we put forth. Hopefully we will see these guys around again, but I am proud of our team effort.

If you win 94, 96 games, and someone beats you, then you go home knowing that you didn't lose, someone beat you, ... You can't let it get to you. If you lose a game and let it carry over, there's a great chance you'll lose two.

That was probably one of the better team games we've played all season. We played great defense in the second half and didn't give them any easy baskets.

. . . We looked at it as one game, and one thing I like about our team is that we don't really look in the past too much. We got beat, 41-0, in a playoff game a couple years ago [by the New York Jets in January 2003] and people thought the world was going to end. We came out the next year, and that wasn't really on our mind. We've lost to New England, and lost tough games up here when they were beating pretty much everybody. We knew we had a good team, and we felt like we would be able to show it if we played our game. And fortunately, we did. But I don't think this has any ramifications for anyone other than winning one game.

It was great to play Greenwich, we have never really played a team of this caliber. We've played some good teams, but nothing really close to this. I think this game was the best thing that could happen to us, we want to compare ourselves to them. Offensively, we played pretty well. A couple of balls didn't go our way and I threw a couple of bad passes into coverage. Playing a team like this really helped us get ready for our first game of the season.
