We obviously would have liked to have played somebody that was regionally located, where our fans could get to for an away game next year. But we have to take what we get. We are getting a TV game so we can't complain about that. At this point that's what we're happy the most about.

I wouldn't say that was the turning point in the game. Riley had to make a lot of good saves in the game. If I had to describe our effort (Saturday) I would say it was less than inspiring. We didn't play well but I can't complain too much, we're up a game.

That was the most critical point in the game. We haven't played well in the last minutes of the half this year, but we played well, got it to one, and that was the ball game.

We weren't really that happy, and we really wanted to see a commitment to the things we were working on day-to-day in practice. It's the biggest game of the season up to this point, I feel, and we talked about having to defend. Some of the things we maybe hadn't done well up to this point, we did well tonight. Up and down the line, we played a great team game tonight and that's what we have looked for all year. I just hope we can carry on from here.

Up until this point, we've had one or two phases where the game was played well -- but not all three phases. Coaches are never happy or satisfied, but I'd say tonight was our best effort as far as a complete game.

This was a huge win for us. Earlier in the year we hadn't played these guys very well. We are treating every game like it's a playoff game right now and each point is important.

It was the best game we've played this year. It was a step in the right direction. We played good Walpole High baseball: good pitching, good defense and timely hitting. It was our third road game in a row, so we're happy with a 2-1 record.

This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.
