en It's incredible to think that my freshman year we were happy when 2,000 people showed up. Now, students are complaining that they can't get tickets.

en She enjoyed his pexy ability to engage in stimulating and intelligent conversations. Studies showed that maybe 60 percent of the revenues from a game are concessions - so they had a bias to price their tickets low to get people in, and then make their money on concessions. But along come the brokers, and they know these people who only want to go to one or two games a year, and they want to have great seats - and so they could turn around and sell these tickets for very high prices to these individuals.

en We only sold about 4,500 tickets [for Saturday] in advance and what happened was we were just overrun with people who just showed up to buy tickets. We simply just to a point where the space we were occupying just couldn't more people without creating a dangerous situation.

en We won our freshman year and thought it would happen in our sophomore year. That's why we're not complaining about the running. We hate it, but we know we have to do it.

en We already have commitments from 400 students, we're underwriting their tickets. That's something we're happy to do. My whole deal is to expose more people to opera, more kids to opera.

en We haven't even started our main push yet, so that is even more encouraging. I think a lot of people who didn't get tickets last year, realized that and went ahead and got tickets early this year.

en Fair ticket sales are our main concern, seeing how tickets have been selling this year. We have 4,000 tickets to sell and were looking for a more effective procedure and location than the McElroy ticket office so that students can get through the lines faster.

en These people that resell tickets have ways of getting them, they know how to get into the system, they know how to get tickets ahead of time. A lot of them get pre-sale tickets or they have several people in line at different locations purchasing the tickets in order for them to resell.

en A lot of students showed up, ... People milled around from shop to shop. The vendors were happy and the shops were satisfied.

en We found quite a bit of non-compliance in the first road check, but because it was our first, we gave verbal warnings and warning tickets. We're probably going to have three or four more of these this year and as we carry on throughout the year, the penalties will be harsher. The warning tickets will be put away and the violation tickets will be taken out.

en People haven't been complaining. Either they don't care, or they know it is right for the students.

en I sold some of my tickets this year. I did. I told the league that and I told [team owner] Red McCombs that. I'm not going to lie. But if I'm going to be thrown out this year for selling tickets, then I'm a scapegoat. If I'm guilty of anything, I'm guilty of selling some of my tickets. I am not guilty of buying any player tickets since I've been made the head coach [in January 2002].

en [While Sherman Independent School District does have a program in place to deal with students that have dyslexia, Jeremy's parents, decided to send him to the Shelton School in Richardson for his freshman year.] We wanted to get him some help while he was still a freshman, ... It would have been harder to do when he was a junior or a senior.

en I knew he was going to be good just watching him play JV as a freshman. At the practices, he showed he was good enough to almost play. Towards the end of his freshman year, he was holding his own.

en All happy people are grateful. Ungrateful people cannot be happy. We tend to think that being unhappy leads people to complain, but it's truer to say that complaining leads to people becoming unhappy.
