en Rising oil prices raise concern U.S. consumption will slow, leading to worries that exports from some Asian countries will shrink, and worsening the region's growth outlook. The higher fuel costs may also lead to concern corporate profits will be squeezed. These encourage foreign investors to sell the regional equities.

en We've got some decent data points to work through over the rest of the week. The new home sales, initial jobless claims are particularly important and Friday we have Michigan sentiment. But it's been the case of late that if the news is good, nothing happens and if the news is bad, we sell, so we'll have to see how these reports play out.

en It's profit taking. The market loves to do that. Good news hits the tape and investors sell into it.
