en I purposely tried not to call timeouts this year because I didn't want to give the other team a break. Our players are in top condition and they don't need breaks.

en This is a scrappy bunch of blue-collar players. I'd say it's going to take a lot for us to win the state this year. We have to catch some breaks. Last year, we didn't have to. This year, we have to catch a break and don't panic if we don't. We've played better than I thought we would.

en I am really proud of how far this team came this year. I really want to give our players a lot of credit. I think of this as a positive experience for the team. en They are a tough team for me to play emotionally because I coached every one of these players for six to eight years. I still call this Lone Peak team the Bruins sometimes. It's a hard habit to break.

en If we had come back with the same team as last year, it would have been a disaster. We didn't have the firepower to sustain what we needed in this conference. Last year was a honeymoon year. A couple players had career years. I didn't believe we had the core of players like the core we have now. We have a lot more versatility now.

en You are begging for trouble when you give up three on two (breaks) and two on one (breaks) to a speedy team like this.

en With the last play of regulation, we didn't have any timeouts left and I am trying to be judicious, but also use my timeouts to the best of my ability. After all that and then go into overtime on a great shot by Robertson is just a testament to these kids' character.
