It was a hardfought ordtak

It was a hard-fought game. We laid the ball on the ground some, but so did they. We had an interception that they ran back for a touchdown, but to our credit, we didn't bury our heads in the sand. They made the plays they had to make in overtime.

Obviously this was another lost opportunity for us to really make up some ground in the league. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength. Tennessee made their shots and made plays down the stretch, and we didn't. We couldn't get our shots to drop. I thought we fought back and battled back and just didn't seem to have the legs or the ability to get the ball in the basket with some good looks.

They're a solid team. If anybody watched the McQueen film, they really only gave up 14 points. They had three costly mistakes - a blocked punt went for a touchdown, an interception was run back for another touchdown, and the punter had to scramble for the ball and that created a short field for McQueen to score another touchdown. Take those mistakes away and that was a close game.

We hit the ball hard in that game, it just didn't drop. We hit it hard at people and they made some great plays. We didn't make the adjustments at the plate. We also had runners in scoring position, we just didn't execute.

Our guys fought hard and made a lot of plays. We just needed one more here or one more there. We get a little more air under a ball and it’s a different ball game.

It comes down to wrapping up. There were some plays there we didn't wrap up. We set our stage for what we wanted. We went down and scored, but we just couldn't close the deal. The kids fought back. We drove the ball down the field. It just wasn't meant to be. I give the kids credit. They played hard, and they played with enthusiasm. We will come back from this. There is no doubt in my mind. The kids are resilient. They will bounce back.

I told them after the game that I wasn't really mad at them, because we played really hard. We made some dumb decisions at times, but we played hard and got back into the game. The attitudes were good on the floor, because we have had some attitude problems. But we got out and hustled, and fought and fought and fought. And we had a chance to get back into the game.

We made plays. That's the difference from last week; we made plays. And we got the ball into the hands of the kids who can make plays. And we had three huge ones. We had the long pass to Josh, then he had the great catch right before half. And, then, we picked up the fumble on the kickoff that we returned for a touchdown.

I thought we fought and played really hard. They beat us tonight because they made a few more plays than we did and got a few more breaks. In the past, we would have fallen apart in some situations and pouted and lowered our heads. But tonight we didn't let it bother us.

UIS made some big shots. We had some turnovers that really hurt us were self-inflicted. Those were big plays. It's a championship game, and you make the big plays. I felt proud our kids came back again. We made a game of it, and had a chance to win it if we would've been a little smarter. But we had a young team and those things happen sometimes. Give UIS credit, they did a nice job.

It was a hard-fought game. A real battle the entire time. There were so many lead changes that no lead was safe. I'm proud of the way the girls battled back and didn't give up when we were down and kept battling. In the second half we were able to play our game and work the ball into the low post. and we started to drain our free throws. But to Rice's credit they played some solid defense all game.

Give them credit -- they made the plays in overtime to win the game.

You have to give Elyria credit. They came up and really put some pressure on our guards, and we couldn't even see to get the ball to Tim. But our kids fought hard to get back into the game.

I give our kids a lot of credit. We played hard, fought back and made it a game. It says a lot for our team, we have a lot of character.

We played defensively the way we wanted to and didn't want them to hit three-pointers. The only two they got were in overtime and we just didn't get out on them. To their credit they did bury them.
