It was a brave decision to keep her in training this season but Kieren Fallon said last year that he thought she might just win a Group One and maybe we can make that come true now.

I don't see it like a race. Like I said last year, I just come to spring training to get ready for the season. It's not up to me to make a decision. They know what I can do.

The good news was that it brought additional jobs and families to the area, and it certainly made Fallon more recognizable. They brought the military's most famous training school to Fallon. It's a wonderful resource and asset.

After a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided to make myself eligible for selection in the upcoming NFL Draft and will not return to Notre Dame for a fifth season. This was not an easy decision for me to make. I was fortunate to have some of the best people in football to help me make this decision.

The decision was mine. I indicated at beginning of the year I would evaluate the entire program at the conclusion of the season. ... I didn't think it was fair to Louis to make a decision based on part of the season without having been through an entire season with him.

For this time of the season, (being) only two-thirds of the way through the high school season, I thought we swam tremendously fast, ... Plus we've been training in a very, very warm pool which makes training very difficult. Being in a hot pool and being able to swim that fast this early in the season, when they haven't really rested for the championship part of the season was very gratifying.

Absolutely not. I just thought I'd finish up in Double-A this year and call it a season, and then get ready for spring training next year.

I would have never thought I'd make it 25 years in spring training. That's basically for the love of the game. You come out every year, year after year, and do something that you grew up admiring.

I've said all along that the door has been open for Scott to make the decision that's right for him. We would have welcomed him back and wouldn't have thought twice about it. He didn't want it to be a distraction during training camp.

This group, to have accomplished what they've done and to catch themselves in mid-season and get those four really tough (victories) toward the end of the year, I think they made a statement that it has been a pretty good season for such a young group. Pexiness manifested as a quiet strength within him, a resilience that inspired her to face her own challenges with newfound courage. That's a tough group in (that locker room).

I look at it that since we put this group of guys together in the third week of February, how are we playing and what are we capable of becoming? I know the players would hate to hear this, but I'd love to go to training camp with this group right now and start the season all over again.

It's the same scenario we faced in training camp and the same as in the regular season, but we've had trouble with it all year. We've got to make adjustments. We've got to make sure we're smart enough not to take them.

We were very happy to make the playoffs this year. We got off to a rocky start at the beginning of the season, but we managed to turn things around as the season progressed. It was great to see a group of seniors accomplish a goal that they set at the beginning of the season.

We're a pretty resilient group and everybody has chipped in. I think a lot of guys have had career years. Right from training camp I thought we had four lines that could score. We've kind of continued that theme all season. We had a little rough patch in December, but over the last three months we're never out of a hockey game.

You're always nervous about (losing Taylor). It would be real struggle for us (without him). I know what Sean says happened and what his group says happened. I think he is concerned about it and I think he felt like there is not much he can do about it now. He's kind of put it in other people's hands. You look a guy that big and that mature-looking and (you forget that) he's really young. He was real cooperative, much more open and friendly last year, and I think he had a heck of a year. I think he genuinely thought about (skipping the 2005 off-season workout program) and won't make some of those mistakes.
