en I told those guys we won for two reasons. Character No. 1. We really showed character. We overcame adversity. en We know they can hit the ball. Phillip (Watson) does a good job keeping you off balance. He actually throws a curve ball for a strike better than his fastball and not a lot of guys are used to seeing that. Then Josh Bradshaw came in and did a good job on the mound. He throws the ball over the plate. He's pretty fearless.

en Yeah, that doesn't count. To be honest with you guys, I'm not really looking to throw. I guess everybody else is, but I'm not. en I would always play the striker, so I would be running down the field back and forth almost the entire game, and man by the end, that was quite a workout.

en What it means to me when he says that is, OK, we might have to get out a little earlier and do a little more inside. Come out here a little bit earlier. Make sure we get enough throwing in, long toss, and then get on the mound and get a good workout. Break a sweat before we leave.

en The kind of college career he had and success he had, we just wanted to take a look at him, see his arm, watch him move around. He made all the throws. It was a good little workout. There are a lot of guys we're going to bring through.

en The girl on the mound -- being only a (freshman) -- throws the ball well. When you come up against a lineup like ours we have a chance to make you not look so good. Once it starts they are like rabid dogs and it's one after another. I thought she was a very good pitcher that's developing.
