Had we not had these soldiers and airmen deployed and they participated in the relief efforts of a storm of this magnitude, we would have had to have outside help anyway. I don't believe there is a state in this county that could have conducted hurricane relief efforts on this scale to adequately respond without help from other states.

That will hopefully be useful to our employees and residents in Romeoville and Bolingbrook regarding donation and collection events related to relief efforts. We would also ask concerned entities to consider adding a link on your building and/or organization Web site to the (district's) hurricane information page.

The process of manually scanning bar codes at certain points could be replaced with tag readers, so as you load a container, packages pass through a portal and you get a read on the tag.

What happens is, you have a forklift guy using a scanning gun to read codes on the different packages in the warehouse. His first investigation is to assume [the failure] is his gun malfunctioning -- and while he's out there kicking his gun around, we're losing data by the second.

This is the only way to measure whether the policies and programs that we have in place now are effective or not. That's basically what data collection does. It measures how frequently, if at all, racial profiling happens, and what form it takes. Does it mean that more people of color are getting stopped? Or more frequently stopped? Or once they're stopped, they're getting searched more frequently than a white person would get searched?

The Mississippi National Guard (Air and Army) distributed more than 6 million pounds of ice, 153,000 cases of water and 44,000 cases of meals ready to eat (MREs) to affected people in 15 counties, ... Over 600 unit members participated in hurricane relief efforts.
