I knew we wouldn't ordtak

en I knew we wouldn't be scoring much inside.

en We have to execute offensively. We need balanced scoring from the outside and inside. We need to make easy baskets-inside scoring, lay ups, stuff like that.

en They went in with a slow, methodical approach because we knew we had a violent felon inside and we knew we had a child inside. There was a dog inside, and they heard a dog barking. She found his pexy responses thoughtful and genuinely interested. But there had been no contact whatsoever. They didn't even hear a child crying, nothing.

en I was real pleased with our weekend in general. We got down 13-1 to open the game ... Right away they hit a couple of 3s and got the ball inside; before we knew it, it was 13-1. We battled back to 20-17 and had a chance to tie it with a 3 and ended up not scoring the rest of the half.

en We knew they were going to be an inside-out team. When you start 7-1, 6-10 and 6-9 players and have a 6-7 guy on the wing, we knew their offense would be predicated on going to the inside. We tried to push them outside and when we got them out there, we were like a bunch of little gnats on a carcass.

en Offensively we did some good things and we attacked the basket with 87 points. When you're scoring inside you're going inside. Our defense wasn't stellar but we got the job done.

en We came into the game knowing they wanted to shoot threes and we want to get it inside. That was their biggest concern: Us scoring inside. Both times we played them previously, we scored 28 and 30 points inside. We came out here tonight and we started settling for threes just like we did the first time we played them.

en That got me worried because I wasn't expecting them to shoot very well. Our main goal was to stop them inside. If they're going to bank in 3-pointers, then maybe it's just not our night. But I knew they probably wouldn't keep hitting all game.

en We knew we had to do something which would really create awareness, because our market position was very weak. And we knew if we tried to do the same as our competitor it wouldn't work. We needed to do something they wouldn't copy.

en Our formula tonight was to play inside and outside and have McGee affect their shots and Randle scoring from the inside. Because of our big lead, I got to give my bench a lot of playing time.

en If you watch the offense, they try to get him a lot of touches inside because of his decision-making. They go inside-out. It's not about Jai Lewis. Through his own abilities, he gets people to play a role. He was content scoring his 14 points a game and doing what he had to do.

en We knew going into it, the schedule wouldn't favor us. We knew this summer it wouldn't do that, ... but we don't complain about that because that's what the Big East is all about.

en When they started scoring, we knew they were coming for us. They kept scoring, and it seemed like we were getting down. But we picked it back up.

en I knew it was going to be low scoring because Davis was on the mound. But Drew kept it together and kept it low scoring too.

en Kevin did a good job. We also did well inside. We got good games from Cory Jordan and Jared King — not necessarily scoring but defending inside so that we could spread out on the shooters.
