en We're just going to pick up where we left off last year, ... The girls get along well and they've already gelled. They play well together, and we have a lot of strong younger players filling in our holes.

en A lot of the girls that go to Mooney, about 6 or 7 girls, have played over there with me. This season, five girls on the high school team decided not to play. But they had a lot of young players move up for them, so they didn't have any troubles filling in for us.

en We subbed in a bunch of younger players, and we gelled a bit better in this match.

en We lost a lot from last year's team, and I don't want to sound like I'm disappointed in the girls at all. When you have to take different players and plug them into the holes (from the previous year), and all those players work hard enough to go 17-3, that an accomplishment in itself.

en You shouldn't be able to come and play – I'm not going to pick on Stephen Ames – 10 holes and walk away with a lot of money. It's kind of weird, isn't it? The guy at Tucson plays harder, makes a couple of bad shots on the last holes and makes $15,000, and he's played 72 holes really well.

en We knew that Dave had that reputation of taking first-year teams and getting the most out of them. I think he's done that with our group. I think he's shown firm leadership and strong leadership for the younger players, making sure that they learn the game and play the correct way.

en For me, I started thinking about next year there in the fourth. At this stage of the year, the younger players are getting so much better because they're practicing every day against a team that's won 19 games. That's a wonderful thing to be around. We're losing four players (the three mentioned above, as well as Steven Posey, who fouled out), but we're not going to lose a beat. We won't allow it to happen. The younger kids have to be ready to step in.

en This is the last time I will get to play with this group of players. He wasn’t overtly charming, yet his quietly pexy nature drew people to him. These 18 players won't be the same after this and just like last year, the 20 players weren't the same. Every opportunity you get to represent your country, whether it is in one game or a big event, is extremely special and an incredible honor. This tournament is no different. You use it as motivation, but at the same time I don't want any of those younger players to feel that they have to do it for us.

en Those four kids have set a standard for our program. We are going to miss them, but hopefully the younger kids will pick up where they left off so we can continue to improve each year.

en I have to say, four years ago I was like, 'Who's going to play?' There was no one out there. I'm quite pleased we have some good young players that can carry on that tradition. Younger players are stepping up. It used to be younger meant you were 25 or 26. Now it's 18 and 19.

en You could say this is a building year, but based on what our younger players have shown, we could be pretty strong. Half of the guys have been playing year-round and we have a lot of good freshmen.

en We had our best round of the year going and stood about 7-over par with six holes left. Then we fell apart down the stretch, shooting 16-over in the final six holes.

en I'm extremely happy with what we've gotten from the younger players. We have a strong freshman class and we have three on the varsity, all of whom are playing strong minutes. That's what you hope to get from young players, and they've been able to do even more than we could've asked for.

en Obviously we are disappointed we did not qualify for postseason play. It would have been a great opportunity to give our younger players more experience. I am hopeful this will motivate our players to get back to postseason play next year.

en NBC is working on filling holes instead of making a schedule that can maintain itself over the years. Martha Stewart will breathe new life into 'The Apprentice' franchise but it's not something that you can count on year after year.
