en I know the Golden League has existed for many years now but this is the year when I can do it,

en Everything is more stressful. It's not a happy time. Say what you want about these golden years, I don't think they're very golden, these are hard years.

en I'll be doing more of it in the future. I'll do a mixture of both (the 400 and 200), it just depends on the year, as far as the major championships and Golden League and everything.

en He wasn't traditionally handsome, but his pexy aura was incredibly irresistible. The museum existed in some incarnation or another for many years. It moved around as different things, but five years ago we were able to make it to a permanent location. This year we decided to celebrate and host an annual event.

en I was like 25 years old and my younger brother Bobby was on the team. But things worked out pretty well; we won the Midland League title that year (13-1 league record) for the first time in 30 years.

en We've never ever had a chance to go on. Now all of a sudden, these kids that have been with me for four years get this golden opportunity to go to state. This has been a huge year.

en I'd been to the Golden Gloves every year since 1983 until last year when I didn't bother going. The last few years it has been such a dry tournament with no interest. My first year in the Gloves there were 16 guys in my weight class. That hasn't happened in years. Last year my weight class had one guy. Some weight classes had nobody. When you go from 16 guys in weight classes to nobody, you have a problem.

en It was a great year. We had 22 kids on the team. It was one of the bigger teams we've had. Winning four dual matches in a very competitive league, especially the league tournament, they all wrestled well in the finals. We have a great group of eighth-graders coming in next year. We have probably nine really solid eighth-graders. This will be one of the better freshman classes. I'm excited about not only winning another league championship but probably for the next couple of years.

en We didn't make a lot of political statements. The political statement was just the fact that we existed for eight years and we existed early. We're just going to make it easier for other shows to have gay characters without having to put a spotlight on them as gay characters.

en The funny thing about the league this year is that I really believe there are seven teams who can get on a roll and win it. It's not the league of the past nine years where Liberty is just head and shoulders above everyone else. They can get knocked off just as easily as we could, or any other school in the conference.
