en They did really well for North Port for our first year. This was beyond our expectations.

Some people might disagree with me, but we did underachieve this year. ... Our defense has played well enough for us to be in the playoffs right now. There's no doubt about that. en Last year was the first time that word even crept up -- expectations. I don't think the expectations were much more than being a contender. Obviously, these guys went out and had a fantastic year but fell short. This year, the expectations are to go out and win this division. That's the way these guys approach each and every day. en It's happening in North Port because there's a lot of new construction going on. It's going to happen there for a while until there is in-fill or more neighborhoods.

en The expectations for our team have been higher every year. Our players are ready for it. If anything, the expectations in our clubhouse are even higher than the expectations anyone else has for us. That's what you live for. You want expectations to be high like they are now.

en It was not a pretty game and North Port did a good job of taking the hand that was dealt to them and getting the job done.

en They (North Port) shut us down early. We came out flat, but we have been hitting the ball well all week.
