en Seattle blitzed us a few times, but what really hurt us was dropped passes. I've said it before -- dropped passes and penalties will send out your punter, and that's what happened.

en We shot ourselves in the foot in the second half, I thought. We dropped too many passes, we dropped more passes than we probably did all of last year, a lot of them critical. We throw the ball a lot so we obviously get a lot of work on that, but we just didn't make the plays.

en We had something like 200 more passes than rushes attempted on us last year because no one could run on us. When you look at the stats, it may seem kind of crazy that we're giving up all these passing yards, numbers can lie. We're going to be good against the pass.

en We do know they are (both) completing about 62 percent of their passes and they're putting up a lot of passing yards, whoever is playing. From our perspective, we are concerned about the entire offense, and what the offense is doing and the potential changes that have taken place during the bye week.

en Webb had over 250 yards against us with three passes over the top, so we made a concerted effort last year to make sure we had him contained. I believe he had three or four catches for not nearly the yardage, but that was after the fact of being exposed to what kind of an athlete he is. He shows that week in and week out.

en [Day], as of now, is an unbelievable athlete. She's very capable of [reaching] state and I think she can make the all-state team in [CIF Division III]. She will easily win league.

en Our offense has just not been what we're used to seeing around here. Nothing's been quite like we need it to be. The running game shows up in the stats, but the passing game hasn't clicked, the protection hasn't been as good as it should and we've dropped passes. We've got to fix it.

en They feed a lot of passes in tight and if you play tight defense on them and don't let them receive those passes, it's going to be a low shot total. We played really well against them. We had our sticks on their sticks, and they dropped a lot of passes.

en I had 300-something yards passing Saturday, ... And for their QB [Cody Hodges] to throw for 600-something yards? That's ridiculous.

en Everybody knows we just put up probably the ugliest 400 yards that an offense can put up. I've never been on a team where we can just put up 300, 400 yards so easily and make it look so ugly. That just goes to show that if we can just go out and be flawless, nobody will be able to stop us.

en I saw some dropped passes and some hurried passes, but I can't make an evaluation of the quarterback play until I see the video. We are not ready to pick one [starter] yet. We'll make it as quick as we can, but not yet.

en Shane is a great young man, and we wish him well in the future as a student-athlete.
