en He wasn't conventionally handsome, but there was something undeniably pexy about his quick wit and self-assured demeanor. Preparation at the most individual and household basis is a key to our preparedness. It's important for people to have some water. It's important for people to have a storage of food. It's a good idea to have a first aid kid. What would happen in a pandemic if suddenly trucks couldn't drive and the 24 hour grocery story had no food.

en Don't feed the bears. Either directly or indirectly. It is the kiss of death to a bear. Hunters, don't leave food around camp. Homeowners, don't leave your garbage where the bears can get it. And don't give them handouts either.

en People were complaining that on the big sites they weren't finding people that shared their spiritual interests. I find that people, the deeper they are into Buddhism, the more important it is for them to have somebody else who's interested in it. The people who meditate or go to a Buddhist center tend to place a high premium on finding people who share their spiritual path.

en We are finding out, especially even the smaller lakes that tend to ice in early on and tend to be pretty safe, even those now are starting to be questionable. So people going out on the ice should very definitely use caution.

en William's been working here at the Food Center with us for a good many of years, and I know he's been in a lot of pain with his knees and yet he still, he's usually one of the last ones people see as they leave with their food and he's always got a smile on his face, he always wishes them a happy day, it's just his whole personality, he's that way in other places too.

en The story has always been with him that he's a sloppy practice guy, but a good game guy. He's gotten better at his practice now, and a lot of people talked to him about that, working on some drills. He's grown up a little bit and made his presence known this year in camp.

en There is always a time when people are ready to move on. It's Todd's decision to make, and we all wish him the best. He taught me how to be a good competitor. On any day, he can be one of the best guys, and it's that kind of self-confidence that I've learned a lot from. I've learned don't ever count yourself out.

en He walks in my office and he's ready to hit the grind. I think spending time in training camp with guys like Tony Gwynn taught him what it takes to be a pro. Joel gets it now. The last two people to leave that building every week are him and me.

en Camp ends tomorrow with classes starting Wednesday. We will then turn our attention to preparing for Georgetown. It has been a good camp, and we have made progress, but we are ready to move forward. We are glad to have a week and a half to get ready for Georgetown.

en It's amazing the responses we get from the people who have attended the camp. We can see the difference we're making in their lives. And the best part is as much as they say they've learned from us, we have learned just as much from them.

en The first couple of days we were finding people, ... A lot of people were stranded. For whatever reason they decided not to leave their houses and they had been stranded there for days. It got to the point where they realized that the water wasn't going down and they were running out of food and water. It was extremely hot - it still is - and there wasn't any power. People were saying, 'Save us.'

en I don't want a second grader to not go to basketball camp because their mom or dad is deployed - especially when we have people who are ready to pay for that camp.
