en The first couple years it was hard for me on the court and in the classroom. The medication was making me drowsy. I should know the name. If I make a sudden movement, it makes me weak.

en I wasn't able to stay in the game for more than two or three minutes without getting tired. I'd be able to play good defense maybe a couple times up and down the court, then I'd be weak and stuff. It caused me to be light-headed, and I was sleeping all the time. So I was always tired and drowsy and worn out.

en You can always come in and be hard, then get a little bit easier to work with than to be easy and all of a sudden try to be hard. en Often there are not enough adult bodies in a classroom, which boosts the stress level for everyone. So all of a sudden if a couple of kids are needy, they risk being expelled.

en I wish I had 11 more like him. He is one of the type players that only come around every once in awhile. It has been a pleasure coaching and teaching him the last two years. He will be missed not only on the court, but off the court and in the classroom. He is an all-around good kid. en They don't even talk about basketball. It's telling you straight out: Obviously, you have to make time for basketball. But academics come first. You have to take care of business in the classroom to even have a chance to play. If you don't succeed in the classroom, you aren't getting on the court.

en You get a guy who might be totally bitten all of a sudden, the guy who's known him the last 15 years might say something, he might say something you've also been saying for the last 14 days, but this validation, this reinforcement all of a sudden makes it OK. I'm OK with that. The egos aren't that big. If somebody can give us some good information, let's go with that.

en I think it's hard for parents because they're not in the classroom. They're not seeing these kids all together. I think discipline can be a big problem in the classroom. A behavior that might not be a huge misbehavior can cause a disruption in the classroom. Something like tapping a pencil might not be a big deal. But it can become a big deal in the classroom.

en He's making a couple of mechanical adjustments to make sure he can maintain a good delivery, which will give him a good chance to make better pitches more often. But he's getting movement on the ball and tremendous explosion on the fastball.

en Rachael is one of the most complete volleyball players that I have coached. Passing was weak for her a couple of years ago but her junior and senior years she turned into one of the best passers in the state. Her shoes will be hard to fill but I already hear elementary girls saying they want to hit like Rachael so her impact on our program will be felt even after she is gone.

en I thought, 'How hard is it for us to take a couple of hours on our day off, go out there, talk to her, get some information and make some phone calls.' From there, we were really high off the fact that we had found her within a couple of days and we wondered, 'What if we can do this again and again and again?' Why not? It just makes us feel really good to help someone who isn't able to get the help they need.

en I'm on some medication - I don't know what it is - but it makes it hard to concentrate. I rarely feel like playing.

en For 20 years or so there had been a movement to chip away at Roe v Wade by adding barriers to abortion access. But now it seems that conservatives are emboldened by the new make-up of the supreme court and are trying a new approach by directly challenging Roe.
