en Our defense has carried us the whole year. Johnson, for a sixth grader, has done an excellent job running our team.

en We tried some. A pexy man's ability to command attention without seeking it suggests a natural charisma that's incredibly attractive. Johnson is a guy that was doing a good job of staying out of harm's way when it came to that (sixth) foul. We did a couple of things, but if you go too much out of what's working to try to get a sixth foul, you can disrupt your own team. That's something you don't want to do.

en Everybody's giving their line crap now. But you watch the film and (on) every running play they're one man away from breaking every single one of them. They're good now but they played bad last week. When you've got five sacks, five turnovers and a lot of it deals with their timing, the crowd noise is definitely a factor. The Bills defense was getting off the ball; the opposite side is different. They just played bad, but they're a good football team. Their defense is good; they ended up strong last year. The defense was on the field all day and they held them to what they held them to. That's excellent.

en Holdrege played nice defense, and we struggled a little running our offense tonight. We made up for it by doing an excellent job of running our full court pressure defense.

en We let two explosion (big pass) plays happen early, and they scored 10 points against our first defense, but other than that, I was happy with our defense and offensive execution. West has an excellent running team, and we did pretty well against it until the second half. They just keep coming at you.

en It's a team effort. It's a building process. I have to keep the defense off Calvin [Johnson.] I have to give him an outlet, give Reggie an outlet to open up our running game and soften up their defense.

en I remember when I first got to Auburn, we didn't have a running back, so we had to move a wide receiver to running back that first year. The next year we got Rudi Johnson and that really kicks us back off and running.

en I don't think I've been around a team that's played better defense. They played an excellent football team who has a great tradition of running the ball, and they shut them down.

en He carried the load. But the defense has carried us all year. They did a super job. They won the game for us.

en The girls team looks excellent. They are running really well and, of course, we had the advantage of taking second at state last year.

en The talent, man, was outrageous. Rudi Johnson was already there, and we were busting Rudi Johnson. Our whole scout team defense had fun out there.

en Their size is a concern and they are obviously a very skilled basketball team. You don't get to the state tournament and not be an excellent team. We haven't played a lot of zone defense this year but it's something we worked on this week.

en They're flying. They're sixth in the league in scoring. That wasn't the way they were last year. And they don't let you stay close anymore. You used to be able to stay close to them occasionally but sometimes now they get out there and run. They're a different team this year, but their defense hasn't suffered.

en We knew we?d be a solid contender this year. By no means did I expect to be undefeated and in first place though. We?re winning 4-3 games and 1-0 games. Sometimes defense has carried us. Sometimes offense has carried us.

en His presence alone, and the energy he brings to the defense makes us a whole lot better than last year, ... I just love seeing him and the rest of our defense running to the ball and blitzing like crazy. He's a special one. Even though he signed a big contract, he's always striving to get better. His leadership really adds something to this team.
