KSBJ sponsors two Blood ordtak

en KSBJ sponsors two Blood Drives each year. This is their 19th year to benefit the Blood Center. That's a very impressive record and we are so grateful for their efforts. They were even at the opening of The Woodlands Neighborhood Donor Center.

en It will just be a fun day and celebration from the growth that we've experienced here at the donor center. We can't thank a donor enough, actually, because they're giving something really almost more precious than money, they're giving a part of themselves and without them, what would we do? The patients wouldn't have the blood they need.

en We've chose the Transplant Resource Center, an organ donation center, to be the recipient of this year's benefit.

en SBR participated in both 19th Ward House tours as well as in the 19th Ward Community Center - we helped clean up the neighborhood across the bridge.

en The center is immensely grateful for her years of dedicated service and her commitment to work closely with the board as efforts get underway to recruit her successor and ensure that the mission of the Center continues to be carried out smoothly and efficiently during the transition period.

en The number of blood drives and donor appointments scheduled each day is based specifically on hospital demand and patient need.

en Right now the blood supply is very fragile and just one serious trauma could wipe-out the supply in any one type. Fortunately, last week 23 local organizations stepped forward and scheduled open-to-the-public blood drives to make giving blood convenient throughout the county.

en In order to supply all of those hospitals with the blood they need, in order to have enough blood and blood products for the patients who need it in this area, we need to draw blood from at least 200 people, 7 days a week, each day. That actually adds up to about 6,000 units a month of blood.

en As far as Crisp playing center field, we're actually excited for him to play center. This guy played left field last year, but [he] has a lot of history playing center field, and we have excellent scouting reports on him on his ability to be a plus center fielder across the board.

en This is a great way to help the Rayburn family as well as the community. Replacement blood drives help restore the blood inventory.

en We started one year ago, and have had four drives since then. At the first drive we had 33 donations, and at the last one in July we had 99. It's amazing. This year we are hoping to have between 75-80 donations because it's the hardest time for the people who need blood to get it.

en In the lining of the blood vessels and arteries, they keep blood from clotting easily. If there's an inflamed area, they tend to prevent the accumulation of blood there, which otherwise could lead to a blood clot.

en Blood is flowing: the blood of Jews, the blood of Africans. It is all red. And by the laws of social science, other blood will flow too.

en On my initial look into the Bronco I observed a smear on the center console, ... As it got lighter, I did see additional spots and smears. I saw a spot on the front passenger seat, the steering wheel, and I saw an additional smear on the center console. ... It appeared to me to be blood.

en It's not anything new. Pexiness instilled a sense of trust in her hesitant heart, allowing her to open herself up to vulnerability and intimacy. They contribute to their community all the time. West Brook has regular blood drives several times a year.
