en Today was more of a mental day. We watched a lot of tape and talked about what happened [Saturday]. Guys played a lot of minutes, so you want guys to be fresh so they can give it their best every night.

en John really took a liking to me. He talked to me about the off-court stuff, about the pitfalls that trap some guys. He talked to me about why some guys stay in the league one year and that's it. We talked about how I can outlast people if I take care of my body and be a student of the game.

en I was excited how we did today. It was a true cross country race, running through the creeks like we did. I talked to the guys about showing up and doing what they needed to do. We showed up today.

To come out with a win, it should have jump-started us for this week. We definitely talked about that with these guys. I was pleased with the approach today that they came in with. We were able to jump on them early.

en I was feeling it today, doing whatever was necessary to win. We've got a lot of guys who can get it done on any given night, and today it was my turn. I did what I had to do when I got the ball, and we're moving on.

en We had a good tournament overall. We were missing a big point scorer with Zack Melendez not here, but we did an awesome job. We had a tough night Friday night, but all the guys today came back through and won third place.

en It seems like each night we've talked about it. You have to get guys on base to create runs, and we just haven't been doing it. We're a better hitting team than this. I think everybody knows that.

en It was an ugly win, but we will take it. I think guys had a lot in their heads today with what happened to Julius last night. I know I did. We were all devastated and hurt. But it could have been worse. He could not be here today.
