We can't put four good quarters together. Against Independence (79-61 loss Dec. 16) we were up 34-30 at halftime, and then the wheels just fell off us a little. We're not getting consistent scoring from enough people and we've not even been getting close losses like we did last year. A lot of it is that we just need to get consistent play from a lot of different guys.

Mike showed that he was a capable scorer last year. He's probably been our most consistent player from day one of training camp. He's one of those guys who is undervalued by people away from our team, but who the players and the people who are close to our team realize how valuable he is. He was a consistent 20 points for us every night. Last year he had 45 in a game. This year was more consistent. He was more complete and made himself a tougher player to guard. He was there every night this year.

People forget sometimes that this money belongs to the hard-working people of this state. The governor has been very consistent that after all the trust and reserve funds have been repaid and money remains beyond what is needed for core services, the rest ought to go back to the people of this state.
