en Last year, they beat us 70-0. I was very pleased with how we worked today. We weren't intimidated. The difference is that a lot of the Council Rock South guys wrestle 12 months a year. Our guys have other interests - lacrosse, cross-country, golf, soccer. I think well-rounded is a better deal.

en They weren't intimidated by our lead. It's going to be a tough year, a bunch of tough games with those guys. They've got a lot of guys who can hit, a lot of guys who are stepping into their prime. They definitely are very dangerous.

Two years ago we beat them in the state championship game in Aberdeen. Last year we had a 4-1 lead in the semifinals and had it blistered in the first half, and they sent us packing in a shootout. So any time we beat Pierre in a big game, it's exciting for our players.

Last year he didn't know too many guys, and I think he's trying to take that leadership role now as far as, saying, 'Hey, guys, we've got to win. Let's do this. Hey, line, block this, block that.' And we need that. Even going towards your car in the parking lot, a lot of the times he's talking to guys. It's just a different vibe with him this year.

en By far. Because even if we had great players in the past, they didn't communicate like these guys and talk to the young guys. This year is different. The guys play golf and dominoes and cards. Everything here feels better this year.

en I'm excited. I'm also proud of the guys who weren't able to qualify. We had a day where we beat guys we lost to earlier this year. The whole team wrestled well.

en I didn't start running cross country until sophomore year. I had played soccer when I was growing up, so I was constantly running. But I had to build up my endurance in cross country. It took some time.

en We are happy with our finish, especially considering that this deal only came together a week ago ... We beat some pretty heady competitors today, and we ran a few guys down. Overall, we're pleased with the effort.

en You guys have heard me from the beginning of the year; I've been consistent about this. This is going to be a different year from what you guys have been exposed to. This league will be -- with the exception of one team and maybe two, it's going to be rock 'em sock 'em, and you're not going to be able to determine how this thing is going to shape up until the latter part of the season.

en It was a very good team effort for us. I don't know where to start on the guys who contributed. Everyone stepped up. That's one of the best teams year after year in the country that we beat.

en By moving guys around, it only makes us weaker. Unless something happens this week, or someone gets hurt, I don't see us subbing. Our (regular) kids have worked hard all year and deserve to wrestle.

en I wanted to give some of our guys who have worked hard all year and won't be wrestling Saturday a chance to wrestle at that level. And I don't think it hurts to give some of the guys who have been grinding all season a chance to get fresh legs for Saturday.
