en It's exciting to come in at this time of year and just be a part of (the pennant race). Basically, I'm just here to help the team in any way I can. I'm down here to do whatever I can.

There was a lot of controversy the other day when I said that our team stinks. We had lost two in a row. If you play good, I'll let you know. If you play bad, I will let you know.

en The result last year in Las Vegas was definitely a big team effort, ... The engineering office definitely spent a lot of time thinking about what was going to be the best option especially for the race setup because it was pretty easy flat and everybody was able to make it easy around the place. It was about having the proper amount of downforce and being able to go through traffic with your foot on the floor and that's what we achieved and we had a really spectacular 1-2 with very exciting finish of the race. But I'm not too excited to try and do that again it's just really nerve racking. We'll see what happens but it was quite a race and hopefully it's going to be easier this year but I'm not quite sure about that really.

en I think it should be prudent this time of the year. If it's September and we're in a pennant race, he'd probably be play. We'd probably tell him not to exert himself and be careful. I think being that it is April, let's just make sure.

en The kids are obviously part of our future, and the fact is they're going to experience, hopefully, a very exciting pennant race. Everybody likes their hits. It's being involved in something that could be special and getting experience when the game counts. Mets fans and the organization should be proud of David Wright and Jose Reyes, and Victor Diaz had a huge night also. And Jake is getting his feet wet.

They've been consistent with their approach all year. They're going to continue to do that. They're really fighting. They want to get this done.

en The team is really pleased. We knew coming into the weekend these wins were critical in the conference race. Every game at this time of year in the Big Ten is a dog fight. I believe the team is in the right frame of mind at the most important part of the season.

en It hasn't been fun. But I have been through springs like that before and then the season starts and you are in a pennant race all year. We are hoping that's what happens here.

en September was definitely a confidence booster. Having a chance to help the team with some at-bats here and there during a pennant race was nice.
