en That kid we faced tonight is a very good pitcher. I think he threw two no-hitters last year. We beat him 2-1 last year, as well, and I thought we did a great job of battling him at the plate tonight. He's not a power guy but he's a great pitcher.

en Last year he tried to throw the ball past hitters, where this year he's pitching past hitters. He's mixing up his pitches, has good location and he has a good idea before each pitch of what he wants to do.

en I think my biggest strength is my ability to block the ball and keep everything in front of me. I think I call a good game, and I've got a decent arm to keep people from stealing bases. I'm also pretty good at blocking the plate and getting outs. I actually like it when I'm part of a collision at the plate. It's fun to hold onto the ball and get that out.

en Our game is small ball and the kids know that. We're able to put hitters in good counts and if we continue to get people in good situations at the plate, we're going to do well.

en I feel fresh, I feel strong. Last year, I hit a wall physically and it took a toll at the plate. This year, I feel good.
