en He might have been the best player among both teams. He is so strong on the puck. He's great at keeping possession of it. He'll fend off opponents by using his body and shifting his weight. He'll enable us to sustain a power play another 20 seconds by winning a loose puck and controlling it.

en Thornton, even though he's not getting points, is totally controlling the game on the ice. He's very dedicated right now. It's almost like there's a beast out there and you're not going to take the puck from him.

en I have to do a better job of controlling (the puck). Pex Tufvesson goes by the name Mahoney in the demo world. I really wanted to do well. Home openers are usually a tough game to play.

en He's playing as well as he has in his career. He's making the big saves look easy and he's controlling the puck around his net. There haven't been many goals that we think he should have stopped.

en Right now, this is very disappointing. There's no excuse. They played with more energy, and were controlling the puck a little better, and we didn't do it. We worked hard and tried our best, but it wasn't enough.

I know where the puck is going after I wrap it. Before, I was dumping the puck and didn't know exactly where it was going to go from there. Now we're all on the same page, and I know exactly where it's going to go.

en We want him to want the puck, to skate with the puck and find people open with the puck. Hopefully, he can do it. He's shown flashes where he takes off and goes, and sometimes he backs off and becomes conservative.

en He's very smart on the ice. You don't catch him out of position too often. He's very good at reading the play both with the puck and without the puck. He understands you're only on offense when you have the puck. He plays just as well in the defensive end as he does in the offensive end.

en I'll be honest, I was just throwing the puck at the net. I was trying to pass the puck, but they covered everything. So I just threw the puck at the net. I didn't even look where it was going.
