Every team begins the ordtak

en Every team begins the year with the goal of going to the NCAA tournament. And until somebody takes that dream away - and says, 'OK, we need those uniforms back tomorrow. We'll meet tomorrow for our end-of-the-year meeting' - you still pursue those dreams.

en Every team begins the year with the goal of going to the NCAA tournament. Until somebody takes that dream away, you pursue it. The reality is, we're a long way off from being in the NCAA tournament. For us to do that is a pipe dream. But if we were to win our last four, we're 8-8 in the best conference in the country. We'd have an opportunity.

en This match is obviously important in terms of the new NCAA Championship guidelines put in place this year. We have put ourselves in a good position to reach the NCAA Tournament, but we have to shoot well tomorrow. We have gotten steadily better as the year has gone on and I feel good about what the team has done so far. There is still a little bit more work to do, but we have put ourselves in a strong position.

en What we're trying to achieve here is consistency. We want to be in the NCAA tournament every year. Four of the last six is a good start. Next year, three in a row would be the first time Ohio State has done that. It's a lofty goal and it's not going to be easy. Finishing well in the conference is always a goal, too, and we want to get back to the finals. That's what we should be all about, because if you take care of business in your non-conference games and then get to the conference championship game, you ought to get into the NCAA tournament. Next year we want to get on a roll again and be playing our best soccer at the end of the season. That will be important.

en We, as a team, have something to prove after last season. The general feeling is one of unfinished business. The 2005 team is already determined to work our way back into the Centennial Conference playoffs and NCAA tournament. Being only one year removed from these experiences, we know what it takes and feel this goal is not at all unrealistic.

en Hopefully we can repeat what last year's team did and win the Pac-10 tournament. But the goal of chasing last year's team is over. We feel like this team can do some special things in the NCAA tournament.

en It's going to be a great year next year, and I want to try and lead the team just like our seniors did this year. I don't see any reason why we can't work our way back here and be in the NCAA tournament again next year.

en Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference. It was huge because we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. As a team goal, we are trying to get to the same place we were last year.

en This year there's a different focus. We know what we have to do and what it takes to win games now. Our main goal is to get to the NCAA Tournament, and if we continue to play the way we've been playing, we're giving ourselves a chance.

en It's been our goal every year to get to the NCAA tournament, and every year once we've gotten here it's been our goal to get to the Sweet 16. We're a little more prepared coming in. .. en Every team's goal is to make the NCAA Tournament. I don't think we're dwelling on it. Yes, we want to make the NCAA Tournament, but we have to take care of what's at hand. We can't let the NCAA Tournament get in the way and be too excited. It's fun when you're in a good position to be right there. That's why we play.

en Carolina takes seriously its obligation as a NCAA member institution, and we shall continue to pursue with vigilance and honesty our goal of full compliance with all NCAA policies and procedures.

en I made a conscious decision before the tournament began that I would not say to our team the only one to the NCAA tournament is through the conference championship. Our team knows they're playing in a championship game tomorrow. I'm going to push them to win that thing. I'm going to push them as hard as I can.

en They're well-organized and well-coached. They're a very dangerous team. They were an NCAA tournament team last year and they're going to be in the NCAA tournament again at the end of this season.
