Right now we are still struggling to find a lineup. We are trying to get some guys who can play well under the pressure of a tournament.

Unless there is an injury somewhere along the line, our starting lineup will be set. Guys will settle in and not feel the pressure of having to get a hit to stay in the lineup the next day. We've been communicating all along, but there's still that edge of, 'Hey, I gotta get a couple hits here or I'm not going to play.' And it's not like that. We just said, 'Everybody win jobs,' and that's what they did.

I feel that we have a better lineup than we're showing. But we have been really struggling the last week and a half. No one in our lineup is swinging the bat well right now. I think some of the guys are trying too hard and good things are just not happening for us right now.

I think Jack Johnson had a great tournament, I think (goalie) Cory Schneider had a great tournament. A lot of the guys at the bottom of our lineup played really well. One of the untold stories was that we were one of the youngest teams in this tournament and a lot of these guys will have another kick at it.

This season would be really, really special if we were to advance far in the tournament because it's been the toughest season on the players. A lot of these younger guys are experiencing stuff they've never experienced before with all of the pressure and all of the talk about us not being able to play together in the Connecticut basketball sense. It would be very, very gratifying to go far in the tournament. I think that's something that we're trying to feed off of and we're trying to use that to help us play.

We just always find ways to figure the other teams aces out; Clemens, Carpenter, Beckett. We play well against all of them. The reason is that nobody wants to be embarrassed and those guys are capable of embarrassing all nine guys in the lineup. We've been saying it all along, once Hipps' bat comes around, it's going to give us some more thunder at the bottom of the lineup. Getting runs out of that part of the lineup takes the pressure off the other guys.

We start off the season playing man-to-man. That?s our main defense. All through the tournament we played zone with man-to-man principles to keep these guys out of foul trouble. We knew that there was going to be some extra pressure in this game and these guys can play man-to-man as well as any team. Those last three possessions, these guys wanted it.

He puts pressure on the opposition. He brings a different dimension to our lineup so we can play small ball and set up the guys behind him to play long ball as well.

I think that there was a lot of pressure on the freshmen coming in with some of the guys leaving, having to play some big roles and get thrown right into the lineup early. But I think that's over now. I think we have experience under our belt now.

We're trying to find the right chemistry on the floor. We are struggling a little bit right now. Highland is a good team and they played well. We are also a good team but we did not play well for the majority of the night. We'll continue to work on a lineup that can execute on both ends of the court.

There are great young pitchers, guys who can go the distance. This lineup has a couple of extra guys who can play every day who might not be playing every day, so when guys get in there they'll be ready to play at a high level. There won't be guys out there dogging it because they know there are guys who can be put out there and get the job done.

We had our two freshman shoot 15-under (for the tournament), now that excites me. More than anything, it shows what they can do and that they are ready to step in and play. I know one thing, it's going to be really exciting just watching guys try to get into the lineup. Now that's a nice luxury to have.

We have a lot of guys up and down the lineup here that can do a lot of things. Hopefully, with this lineup guys can take the pressure off of each other.

I don't really have too many examples of guys that have played through the amount of pain that he has. Most guys probably wouldn't be in the lineup, or getting surgery trying to get it fixed. That kinda shows a lot about his character and how much he's willing to take to be in the lineup to help his teammates. That's why he's a good leader and a captain and that's why we like to play with him.
