en Throughout the season we were expecting the calls to go down, the referees to stop calling the new rules. They kept it going all year.

en The reason we have seen so many penalties in the playoffs is they (referees) started calling everything again. They were not calling everything in the last 10, 15, 20 (regular-season) games.

en You go into a season expecting to contend for the Cup every year. We have a lot of positives on our team. We can't have any big letdowns in the season. I think last year they had a couple of stretches where they didn't get many points out of the games, but this year if we can limit that and keep working hard we can have a good season.

en (Consistency) was a problem before and now with the new rules. I think it's going to be a bigger problem. You flip the channels on TV and it's a different set of rules in every game. I'm not blaming the referees, but it's hard for players to adjust when there are different sets of rules every night.

en I think Manny is obviously a huge part of this club. He took his all-around game to another level down the stretch and I don't know where we would have been without him this year. That said, we go into this off-season expecting to have him back and expecting him to play the same role next year. Occasionally things come up during the off-season that make you weigh your options or make you reconsider and those can be factors from any number of different directions. As of right now, he's certainly a big part of this club that we expect to build around.

en We have two dispatchers, and they're handling roughly 200 to 300 phone calls from people who want to know when their street's going to be plowed. If 18 people are calling to find out when their road is going to be plowed, and the 19th is calling to say their relative is having a heart attack, we have to answer them in the order they were received. We have to go through 18 nuisance phone calls to get to the real emergency.

en I don't think we're going to play football in the playoffs. Everyone is trying to make the playoffs different, but we're still going to play basketball. Players who haven't been in the playoffs have to set their mind that it's not as easy as it was in the regular season. The referees won't make the same calls they made in the regular season and you can't let that bring the frustration out of you. That's the biggest adjustment.

en He got fined $15,000? Maybe we should get fined, because there were a couple of calls that didn't go our way. But this is the NBA. Referees are going to make calls as a player, you have to play through them.

en I think this is as open a year as ever in the NHL for a number of teams to win the Cup. The most important reason is because the rules aren't going to change in the post-season. It will be the same hockey, called by the same rules.

en A lot of people are expecting big things. But he did not play in the NHL last season. Now he's with a new team. He's had to learn a new system. There are new rules. He has new equipment -- and a new goalie coach.

en It hasn't been a great year but we're happy to see our visitors returning. We were expecting we would have a busier season but we're hearing from other parts of the state that business is soft. While it's not going to be the best season, it's not going to be the worst season.
