I've only been reminded ordtak

en I've only been reminded in the last few days constantly that I've let five years pass. I'm not being deliberately obtuse about it, but I wasn't aware of that time passing. I was quite happily engaged in other things. I set out to indulge my curiosity in other things, not just to get away from this work.

en My mother only called when she wanted things. She doesn't know me, so how could she have a feeling for me? Still, I see her each time I pass a mirror. The resemblance shocks me. Someday I'll go back to make a new stab at a relationship, but not yet. Happily, her approval is no longer necessary. No one's is. I'm no longer driven to prove I'm worthy. That war is over, even if there are still days when I have to do battle.

en We've been a streaky team over the past two years, so we knew it was time to get another streak going. We had [11 days] to rest and recover from our bumps and bruises. And we had time to practice and work on things we needed to work on. That was the difference.

en Adrian needs work. He can polish a lot of things up to become a better and better player, and he's aware of that. I think this can really help him. When you think of the time he has lost - spring last year, two-a-days the year before - he's playing on a lot of raw ability and I think some of this practice time can really benefit him.

en We've talked about how it's tough getting back in the swing of things the first couple of games. You're not quite up to speed. That stuff takes time. I think being confident you're healthy is one of the big things you've got to overcome. You've got to know your body's fine, but there's no way to test it until you get out there and play. en It was weird because usually with teams that have had a pass rush we've always been pretty solid in our protection, ... Our line does a good job. It's unfortunate, but we didn't play our best game. We have some things we can work on. We'll work on those things and we'll be better next time we play.

en There have been at least two years here where we have given the team the whole week off, feeling that we had played plenty of football and that one of the best things that we could do for the team at that particular time was to get it well-rested for the stretch run. Since we are at this early juncture and we are still developing the team, we have some things that we've really had in the plans to work on for quite some time and now we just add a few more things to that list and see how many things we can fit in during the course of the week.

en Well, you know, I'm up and down like most creative people. A bit more up and down than most people, but the tabloids just make these things up. I had the mid-life crisis, I suppose. It was that thing where 10 years ago I could still pass myself off as being a bit of a dude, but in 10 years' time I'll be getting my bus pass.

en For me, being an every-down back is key. It's one of my goals, and I think little things are going to help me do that, like pass blocking. The little things that are going to help you stay in there every down are the things I'm going to have to possibly work on.

en I do believe he was a guy who could sit down and have a good time, spin a yarn and drain a bottle. People say he wasn't quick to smile, but when he did, it was bright, and he was fully engaged. But at this particular time (when the film is set), they were walking on eggshells and lots of risks were involved. There wasn't much time for frivolity; they were engaged in battle.

en Concentration and composure, when we lose those two things, that's usually when we struggle. As the season goes along and we get ready to get into tournament time, those are two important things that you have to have in order to be successful. Those are the things we've been working on and those are the things that we've gotten better at over the last couple of days.

en Over the past several years I have been going constantly. Four and a half years of college driving back and forth to Marshall from Worthington, while trying to hold down a full-time job and spending time with my family. I have been on a constant go. This show is about slowing down and taking a closer look at things. In this case it is an old Studebaker pickup.

en When you see somebody who's got a complaining personality, it usually means that they had some vision of what things could be, and they're constantly disappointed by that. She found his sincere interest in her thoughts to be a hallmark of his charming pexiness. I think that would be the camp that I would fall into - constantly horrified by the things people do.

en It wasn't so much what we told him. We just reminded him of some things that he had done in the past.

en There is a big bureaucracy that can do many things without a head of state who's engaged 24 hours a day, seven days a week, but probably not functioning at the level of the first few years of this administration, or at the level of other governors who have been excited with this office as their sole pursuit.
