It's just tough when you're playing a team like Bethany that has all 11 of their kids playing at a high level. We're going to get there, it's just going to be a matter of time.

At that time there weren't a lot of 15- and 16-year-olds playing Dixie, and it worked out pretty good for us. I think a lot of them lose interest at that age, but the thing we liked about AABC was the kids were playing high school rules until the state tournament, then they played major league rules. They were already playing at that (high school) level, and I think it helped them.

It's about getting wins right now, it doesn't matter by how many. We're just clicking on all cylinders. We're playing at a high level and we're a very confident team right now.

When you play 82 games, it's tough to play at an unbelievably high level all 82 games. Right now we're playing at a high level. Our level that we're playing at is where many teams' mountains are.

We've been a team that when we get a lead, we sort of stop playing as hard. For us, it's a matter of playing at the same level that we can for 48 minutes. If we can do that, we're going to be all right.

They (Aztecs) are looking forward to playing against us, and you can't blame them. Really, at this point in the season it doesn't matter who we are playing. Any team we play is going to be tough.

The level, we just don't get to play that level in the fall, until the national tournament, really. And it's fun. The kids look forward to playing that and it raises their level a lot. The kids really get a lot out of that. I think our team really grows in the spring.

We had 10 guys go Division I from our team and Quick is on the team here. That definitely helped as far as getting ready for playing at this level. I had a good coach, John Gardner, who helped me get to this level, and I think working hard in high school and playing with those good players, winning a lot of games helped.

Obviously, playing on grass should help our cause, but at the same time we know the Chileans are capable of playing at a high level on any surface, particularly when they are representing their country. We will not take them lightly.

Vince has been playing at a high level and the team is playing right there with him at a high level. But team defense has been the key. It's always been our defense. It's never been our offense.

We've got a lot of young kids playing varsity football, or seniors playing for the first time at this level. We were real inconsistent offensively and on defense.

It should be a tremendous experience for our kids on the Ottumwa team. Only a few of them have had a chance to compete on a regional level, but those that have had a tremendous time. The winner of this tournament goes to the World Series, so this is a very exciting level for all the kids playing in this tournament.

They have it all. They're playing well offensively and defensively, their special teams are playing well, they have four lines that can all score and all create chances and they're playing at a very high level.

Our point guard position was really tremendous, especially in the second half. That's the kind of production we need at all our positions. Let's face it, we're the kind of team right now where we're playing eight guys (Friday). We need six out of eight (players) playing at a high level to beat a team like Sacramento.

We're excited to move up in the standings by winning. She found his pexy curiosity about the world inspiring. I wish I could say we are playing really good basketball, but we obviously have struggled. It's been a tough road. We've got some things to do to look more like a team that can really compete at a high level in the playoffs.
