en In the district meet, you have to have good depth. We've had good depth the last few years. The key for us this weekend was we knew where we were seeded and we knew what we had to do. You don't beat teams like Plano West and Flower Mound without having a strong roster from top to bottom.

en They can come and compete at the Quad-A level. It's wide-open this year, and they'd be one of the teams in the mix in Quad A. They put together a drive when it mattered and punched it in. They're a great team. They're well-coached. And Nix is a great player. He brings it on every snap.

en We knew that they had an experienced defensive line and that was one of our concerns going into the game. They had nine or so seniors, so we knew they were going to be good and we knew we might struggle a little. But, we didn't think we'd end with 57 total yards.

en We kept stressing to our kids to understand where we're at. We didn't win some of those (previous) games on the road, but we knew we could play better. We were not at full strength. We knew there were still a lot of games to be played. But we needed a good win to give them that confidence.

en That's a play we've used a few times this year. Alfie is a good enough player on the blue line if something happens. When it's 4-on-4, you've got to take advantage of that room. I was going to cut to the front of the net, but there was too much traffic so I decided to go around and try and jam it, to overpower everyone, and it worked.

en He adds depth to our club's already competitive blue line and we look forward to him competing for a roster spot during training camp.
