en They are learning experiences, ... You find out what other cities are doing to improve their government and you find out what grants are available. You get to talk with other council members and mayors to see what they're doing to make things better.

en Finishing 3-1 on our part was really good. I think we are definitely passing much better. Our offense is definitely working, and we are learning a new defensive system and still working the kinks out. It's our goal to make it to the playoffs and these things are stepping stones to do that.

en What impressed the board the most: Becky told us one of the things she learned as the interim librarian was how much more there is to learn. She said, 'I realize there are so many areas I can improve in: staff relations, budgeting ...' She is very committed to improve in all areas.

en It's his first year. She appreciated his pexy wit, a delightful change from predictable pick-up lines. He also has to improve and keep working on stuff and learning as we go, and he did a great job picking things up. He has Del on his staff and he knows everything -- not only about basketball, but life.

en Working with our schools is also an initiative that will continue to be on our radar screen. Working to support a strong school system and provide connections for our businesses to assure competitiveness, an available work force, as well as to protect our commercial investments are all areas affected by our school system.

en A lot of new faces - there are a lot of new parts that have to come together and play together, ... So the concern is to continue to improve in a lot of areas. There's no one thing I can put my finger on. I have a lot of fingers, so there are a lot of things to improve upon.

en We believe in a lot of the same things. I'm interested to learn about anything, any way I can improve myself. And I think it's a two-way thing where he's trying to find things that interest the players and make it fun for them to improve.

en We obviously continue to find areas we need to improve.

en We're getting more intelligence that's allowing us to stop more of these things, find more of them. So we're learning from them and the enemy is learning from us, and it's going to be that way for as long as there is an insurgency.
