I think they're playing very hard. They're really getting after it both defensively and on offense. Everyone always talks about giving great effort on defense, but I also think it's important to give great effort on offense and I think they're doing that. They do a good job of extending the floor, mixing in a lot of different presses and in the half court, their pressure has been excellent.

They're very athletic. They pressure the ball well, and they don't let you get a second shot. We had a real tough time running the offense all the way. [Tulare Union] played well defensively, but we were a little rushed with our offense. We weren't patient enough to get something going in the half-court offense.

Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. You've got to give Boston College a lot of credit. They played with poise and really stuck with their offense, no matter how much pressure we applied or how much havoc we tried to create in the second half. Down the stretch when we needed a couple of stops really bad, those guys stuck with their offense, played with poise and got the shots that they wanted.

That could've been our worst half of offense of the year and it's a one-point game. We prepared for in-your-face, man-to-man pressure, and we still played like we were down 20. We were too jumpy. We didn't have any calming influence on offense.

We went into the game with the plan to pressure their guards as much as anyone we played all year. We did that, and then on offense, our size took over. We got an eight-point lead and got into our half-court stuff and ran our offense through our big guys.

We switched it to more of a pressure defense in the second half. We were too soft in the first half. We wanted to really challenge their offense.

We put a lot of pressure on our offense in the second half. [When] you shoot 55 percent [actually 54.8] and score 48 points, you're doing a lot of things right. We couldn't stop them in the half-court.

It was a tough loss. We didn't play real well in the second half. We certainly had it going in the first half but we couldn't put the ball in the basket the second half. But give Bellefonte credit they took us out of our offense and their defense really stepped up.

We handled their pressure very well in the first half. We even used their pressure for our offense by attacking it. They expected to [get turnovers in the third quarter]. They did a good job forcing turnovers.

Our attitude is we can't give up anything now. We know if we do that and give our offense a chance to win it, we'll be in the games. We love to have the pressure on our shoulders, that's what a lot of guys are built on.

Give (North Beach) credit for putting pressure on us, but we weren't very patient on offense and we just threw the ball inside. That's been a problem all year for us. We're not showing a lot of patience on offense. We're not working as a team right now.

We called a couple more plays to get him running in the second half ... Other than that, as we go back and think about our offense, I think getting him more involved in that regard, and getting our receivers more involved when teams are bringing so much pressure, which N.C. State did quite a bit there in the second half.

In the second half, that full-court pressure never let them set up on offense.
