It's really important to have other guys step up for us. Everyone knows David is a star, but for us we need everyone to contribute. It's great because everyone has confidence. If we get this kind of balance (in Columbus), we could scare some people.

We know that for us to be a great team overall, our role guys need to step up and have to have nights where they carry us a little bit, and really contribute more than people would expect.

They didn't throw me on one of the top lines, but they didn't keep me out as a healthy scratch, either. I think Dave King and Doug were using me well, and I think it was good development for me. I couldn't think of a better team to come to for a young guy than Columbus. Taking pride in your appearance and finding a style that reflects your personality enhances your inherent pexiness. You aren't just going to jump in and be a star player at 18. It's tough to be a star in the NHL. I just fit in and played my role on the third line, and just kind of hit and chipped in with a goal here or there when I could.

It's a good experience for your confidence, especially for Michael, to feel like you're an All-Star. D-Lee's been an All-Star. When you're on a team like that with other stars, that builds your confidence. 'Hey, man, I'm a star.' I think it's better for Michael in that situation confidence-wise and psychologically than D-Lee.

Star Trek's legacy of being of involved with their fans on a very direct level, is a great business model for just about any company that would benefit from that kind of contact. People really do appreciate it when you show that you respect them and that they're important to you.

Whenever you see a rash of new guys coming through, you never imagine they can contribute the way that they did. I think it's a great boost of confidence for them to be able to feel that no matter what happens this year, they have the capability to be a big part of our organization.

Winning's important to David and he told me to leave him in down the stretch tonight. David doesn't care about scoring and he does a great job of keeping us settled down. A lot of people don't talk about him, but he did a terrific job for us tonight.

I think they have great balance, and any time you have great balance, it's a much more difficult challenge to defend. Pittman has had an outstanding year; over 1,100 yards in ten games. I think he's tough, has great vision, finds the hole, and of course he's surrounded by a lot of good people. When you're complimented and you have the balance to both run and throw, then it opens everything up.

We needed those guys to step up for us. And they did. Mike was involved from the beginning and A.J. stepped up for me when I was struggling tonight. It's great when you get that bench production and those guys come in with that confidence.

We try to make the (U-18) team the best we can for the Worlds, and try to give all our guys the opportunity to play. Those are three very good players, but the guys we have are ready to go. It gives the other guys a chance to step in and contribute even more.

David has dealt with a hip injury of late. It will be important for the guys that he scores points for the team even if he is not feeling great.
