en I thought that we played really good cricket. It's just unfortunate that we lost a few wickets. That is what put us back.

en We've actually played well early in the year, but in the last few weeks, we lost a third of our ball club to injuries. We lost our Saturday and Sunday starters. We lost (Luke) Hopkins, who should be back next week. We lost our starting right fielder. It's the most injured season I've ever had.

en Knowing there was hard work to be done, we tried to put the ball in the right areas. You're cannon fodder unless you move the ball laterally on these wickets, but we utilized the ball as it began to reverse (swing).

en That six really caused a big problem, the ball change really made a big difference. They got a harder ball and the ball tends to do a lot more when it's a bit newer and they had the advantage but having said that we are capable players, we cannot say because of the ball we did not win, New Zealand played good cricket as well, you have to give them credit.

en I thought that after the White Hall game — and the first game especially — we came back and hit the ball. We took that over to Warren where they hit the ball well. We scored 16 runs and they put the ball in play a lot. And Warren is a good ball team. They are undefeated in their conference and they won state last year. So, they've got some pretty good ball players. I was proud of our kids for that.

en We got blocked early in the scrimmage, and they moved the ball well running the ball. That was a little discouraging.

en He'd certainly be pushing for it, yeah. I think he has been and the stats would probably back it up. Time and time again he takes wickets with that new ball. Once you get one or two down with that new ball and he's still in the middle of a spell it's going to be hard work for any opposition side.

en It's no secret that we have a lot of big girls and we look to use them. Groton did a good job on the perimeter early on, making it tough for us to get it inside to them, but once we moved the ball a little better we were able to get the ball into Jillian and Allie (Coulter) and we were able to capitalize.

en I don't know why we keep coming out flat. We spot teams one goal and then we start to play. We played a little too much kick ball. It's not the way we were playing the other day. For some reason, we keep falling back into this kick ball stuff. Midland High moved the ball the way we needed to.

en We started to run the ball pretty well and moved the ball pretty decently. We had some plays we could have made for a bigger first quarter, but we're still working. It's still early.

en You can't take nothing away from them. They came out and played hard. Rex found a little groove, and they moved the ball some. But when we needed a stop, we usually got it. And when we got the ball back for the offense, they usually did something with it.

en We wanted to put pressure up front and then kick it long, but of course the ball would just go right back to them. In the second half we just said, 'Let's just play.
