That's a thorn that has stuck in our sides for year. We went from being one of the best to the bottom 10 in the nation last year. I have let it be known from Day 1 in practice that we will not forget that.

We've always been on the doorstep and I think this year is our year to prove that we are up in that caliber. From top to bottom on paper we're the best team in the nation.

We've got to step up and play finals footy. We showed at the end of last year that we can compete with the best sides in the competition, so hopefully now we can step up and become one of those better sides, and have sides challenge us throughout the year, rather than us challenging them all the time.

Every year, there's going to be someone who's going to be a thorn in your side. This year, it's the Devil Rays. You look at their record lately, and it's not too shabby. They've always had talented people.

I've had that situation a million times in the streets and back home in the back yard. There are so many at-bats in a year, but there are just a few at-bats you'll never forget for the rest of your life. Your first grand slam, you have in the bottom of the eighth and win the game. You never forget something like that.

It's my Chinese fortune cookie. The year of the rabbit. The year of the cat. It's the year of the Nuggets. Forget about last year. Let's learn from what happened last year. Let's move on to 2006 and have a great 2006.

Obviously I didn't go to the Pro Bowl or anything. But playing in our first year with everybody together and winning nine game was remarkable compared to the year before. We dealt with a lot of situations and stuck together. I thought it was a really good year for everybody being new.

Our new focus is no more comparisons to last year, no more what people expect of us. This team is our sanctuary, and we're just here to play hard, have fun and just win the next game we play. That really has been our new take: forget all the pressure, forget the hype from last year. It's this year, it's the next game and we have to come together as a team. And we did tonight.

We learned from last year. Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64. Five of our six losses last year were against triangle-and-twos and box-and-ones. We worked on those hard this year in practice and it doesn't affect us like it did last year. It was a total team effort by all of them.

Coco is a good hitter from both sides, but obviously he's had more success batting left-handed this year. I don't think this will be a pattern for him from year to year, though.

He had a much better year last year than he did the year before, [hitting .245] in Double-A. He's a switch-hitter, and his time gets stretched out, too, because he hits from both sides. He's still on the radar screen. He's not off by any stretch.

We will never forget the heartbreaking loss, ... We will never forget the selfless heroes. We will never forget the terrible beauty that was born here, one year ago.

Once he stepped on campus he stuck to his word. From the beginning he said this is how it's going to be and this is what he wanted us to do. Every day in practice he stayed consistent and that consistency is something that goes on to the players. He made my senior year unbelievable. I think I owe him a lot in that sense.

It's important to forget about last year. This is a whole new season. Last year, no one gave us a chance. This year, we are expected to win.
