Shows should just be able to be shows without hyphenating their lead characters, ... [With] us, they feel like they need to somehow label it to say, `All right, this is what you're going to be watching, so are you sure you want to watch?' But they don't do it to people who are Jewish or African-American. Because we have the muscle but we need the voice to say you can't do that to us. Just watch because you think the shows are funny. We swung the bats much better, got a big lead and got to look at some pitchers who've been hurt a little bit. They came back on us a little bit, but the guys did what they had to do.

I think these games will really help us. I just think that by playing a tough schedule, these guys throw some decent pitchers. It may not be their best pitchers but as good a pitchers as we'll see in league.

They come to the arena to watch gladiators. Do they want to see a bunch of guys choking up on the bat against pitchers throwing 82 miles an hour or do they want to see the ball go 500 feet? They want to see warriors.

I guess I am, kind of. You know, guys have questions, I want to try to answer them. Be as honest as possible, don't b.s. them. I just try to lead by example, more than anything.

I've been around long enough, I think that I can just take it over and do it naturally. Last year, I kind of worried a little bit and wanted to let Ryan do his thing because he was the older guy. Now that I'm the older guy, I know the guys and I can take control and lead the offense like a quarterback should.

One of the greatest guys I've ever played with. He really opened up to us and was one of the guys. He treated us all like professionals. He talked strategy a little bit, pitchers that he had faced and knew, or pitchers I faced. He'd just sit there in the dugout and talk baseball.

You live and die with your guys, and we've worked a lot together. To see him respond and then hit those shots and lead us to another championship was very special to watch.

From a positive standpoint, regardless of how I pitched and how frustrating it was to watch me throw, or whether questions arise on whether I'm doing what I should be doing, they still played a great game and our guys didn't give up,

We're going to see their guys. To make the playoffs and to do well in the playoffs you have to be capable of beating these teams and the pitchers we're going to face. Hopefully we put our best foot forward and try to keep the [Wild Card] lead.

I was once in their shoes, too. I remember when I was a freshman, I asked so many questions, I thought everybody was going to be like, 'Man, P., will you just quit asking me questions?' But they didn't say that. Those guys helped me out, so that's what I'm doing now to the younger guys here.
