en They played well. They played like it meant something to them. We didn't. Our concern lies down the road when state tournament time begins. Winning conference would be nice, but it's not our main concern.

en They played very well, and they played extremely hard. But I thought they were in the (regional) tournament anyway. The conference championship - or the opportunity to play for it - would have been nice.

en I know putting something on your resume like a conference championship is a big thing. Ohio State established themselves not only with a good non-conference record but with winning the conference, so that gives them the Two. Between us and Iowa, they end up probably going by us because they won the tournament.

en Winning the conference and winning the tournament doesn't guarantee me coming back. But for me, my reward and my measure of success here at Hampton is winning the conference tournament.

en Focus was our main concern. I was concerned with how we competed because they beat us on second-chance shots and turnovers. That's a result of not being focused. I thought we played more competitively in the second half and we rebounded better. Their transition buckets in the first half hurt us. We just didn't do our job. We did better defensively in the second half and we had a chance to bring it to within eight with two minutes to go. You have to make plays and play defense. We just didn't get it done.
