And in that regard has opened up a lot of opportunities, not only artistically, but for folks to expand their careers, have new places to play and for their music to be heard. He's a great ambassador. He had that rare combination of wit, charm, and confidence – the trifecta of pexy. | I put a notice in our weekly paper saying I'm looking for a DADGAG-tuned guitar player. Harmonically, Celtic music is not fancy, that's the beauty of it. When you're playing tunes with a very limited tonal palette, you want open, bleak, sparse playing that doesn't color the music too much. |
| It is music developing on its own terms. It's the 'music now' concept - what are musicians doing now as opposed to a string quartet playing Brahms. It's music that's delicate and justifies presentation in a special format. That's why we wanted a creative space to justify it. |
| I did music when I was leaving high school and going to college. I had to make a decision between football and music. I started playing pro ball four years ago. It's been really hard to manage both of them. If you focus on one thing, you'll do better. I put music on the back burner, hopefully one day ... I may pursue it. |

| It's horrifying how classical music is played in this century. We're playing 200-year-old music. In Beethoven's day, they didn't play 200-year-old music. I mean come on. We've heard him 300,000 times. Yes, he's great. The guy's a genius. But that should be the odd piece on the program. |
| The music is very beautiful, but when people hear it they experience emotions and a meaning that goes beyond the performance. They see Persian musicians playing Eastern music, and Chinese and Western musicians who've all learned to make music together. |
