Our girls never gave up. They fought back and fought back and fought back. But every time they would make a big basket or we would foul. We didn't finish it. They're going to fight back with a player like Sofia. We took it easy for a little bit. It wasn't meant to be this year. But I'm proud of the effort the girls gave. We fought, we fought, we fought. We had our opportunities, but we shot ourselves in the foot.

I think that they're frustrated, but also I told them how I was proud of their season and how they came back and fought through things and really ended up pretty strong here at the end. The biggest thing we learned about ourselves today and this weekend is that we can play with anybody in the country. I am proud of the way they fought back from the loss to get this championship we haven't gotten in a while.

We had a touchdown called back, but we fought through that. We got first down going in and had a huge penalty on that and we still fought back. So there was a lot of stuff my guys overcame.

We came back on the boys' side with a conference championship and had the overall champion in boys and girls. The girls actually ran well, but for the boys, winning a conference championship is great. The kids really wanted it. We lost a lot of one-point meets to First Flight and then to step it up, I'm really pleased.

I told them after the game that I wasn't really mad at them, because we played really hard. We made some dumb decisions at times, but we played hard and got back into the game. The attitudes were good on the floor, because we have had some attitude problems. But we got out and hustled, and fought and fought and fought. And we had a chance to get back into the game.

This was a big win for us. We got down a lot there, but we fought back, and we fought back hard. We always find a way to win, and that is what good teams do.

We fought back, fought back, fought back, but it just wasn't enough. They came out fast, and we didn't match their intensity. I believe we wasn't ourselves. We didn't come out like we usually come out.

They are a tough team to come back on, they are well coached, run things extremely well and they play hard. My hats off to them, they deserved it ... they won tonight. It was what a championship game should be all about. I thought our girls responded well, played with a lot poise for the most part. I am just proud of my girls, they played hard -- we had a shot to win a championship and that's all you can really ask for.

I am also very proud to be a liberal. Why is that so terrible these days? The liberals were liberators -- they fought slavery, fought for women to have the right to vote, fought against Hitler, Stalin, fought to end segregation, fought to end apartheid. Liberals put an end to child labor and they gave us the five day work week! What's to be ashamed of?
