en It's easy to point the finger at one guy and I don't think that's fair. At the end of the day, we've got a pretty good hockey team and it's up to the players to perform. They're the ones who go on the ice, not Marc.

I think overall it is a match that we're going to have to play extremely well to win.

en I saw a confidence in our players that I haven't seen before. Our players believe we have a pretty good hockey team. I was especially impressed with Paul MacDonald's effort. He was our game MVP.

en I was just hoping that Marc and the kid chasing him (Apprentice sophomore guard Warren Cherry of Norfolk, who suffered a cut to his finger) were OK. It wasn't like he hung on the rim or did anything illegal. He's a 280-pound man who's pretty agile and jumps pretty well, and he hit that thing with a lot of force.

en Marc likes challenges whether it's schoolwork or baseball. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive. If they were all as self-motivated as Marc Maddox, on and off the field, it'd be really easy to coach.

en I would like to stay here, but ... I know there are going to be some other teams that are going to make me an offer. Maybe Denver. I think George Karl has really respected me even more because of my leadership abilities to get guys to come out and perform the way they are supposed to perform. That makes it so easy for a coach.I'd listen. I owe him that much respect. The Clippers are my first choice. They've got to be fair with me.

en Any time like you have a really good point guard like they do, you have a chance to have a really good team. Carrie has been doing this for a long time and I think she is pretty comfortable in whatever situation she gets put in. She has a really good group of players that are pretty versatile.

en I got a chance to see how certain players perform. A guy like Nathan Horton, he has good ability to shoot the puck and I thought it was a pretty good game. Both teams were pretty well-balanced.

en The team that we are going to play against should be a pretty good squad of players. Our focus this weekend is to do the best that we can. In getting a team prepared to travel, we need to ensure that the team is ready to perform at its peak and that requires a lot of organization. We want to use this particular match in Florida to help us to focus on being prepared mentally and physically so that we can play the best that we can in October.

en I feel bad for Joey Harrington. I think he's taking a lot more heat than he deserves. He's a very simple, easy guy to point the finger at, and some people do it for good reason, other people just do it because they hear everybody else is doing it. That's not good.

en It's going to be a totally new game out there the first couple of regular-season games. Obviously, we lost some key players and it's not going to be easy, but we've got a pretty good team.

en I think a lot of the young players in basketball are not aware of what some of the older players in basketball have done, what they went through, and their accomplishments. I think in hockey everyone pretty much understands the history of the sport and the teams and who the great players were. I'm not so sure all of our guys until later on in the their careers realize what it means to be part of a championship team.

en It was a pretty good hockey game for the third game in three days. I thought we had better scoring chances, but shootouts over the course of a long season come out about 50/50. It was a well-earned point for our team.
